It's difficult to asses online because gearbox feel is very subjective. You could have two identical gearboxes but two very different accounts on how they feel. Perfectly fine from one person, and terrible from another.
Add that to the fact that they DO vary on an Emira (I've driven 3 cars and they all felt different), then you have almost unlimited subjective feedbacks. I assume they vary because they are hand assembled and adjusted in the factory, I think the design (mounts/inserts?) have been adjusted during the life of the car which further complicates matters.
So how does the end user deal with this? I suppose either accept yours however it comes. Or try and get it adjusted to your preference. FWIW I've been told the Emira gearbox is much better than on the Evora.
Personally I'm quite happy with mine. I just need to never rush it. I only have issues when I rush the gear changes. I actually like the 'overly' mechanical feel compared to a slick Honda/Mazda feel that others prefer.
