First Edition Badge - Views?

Hi All,

The Emira is a wonderful step forward for Lotus, and I am sure enthusiastic drivers will love it!

However, I am surprised I have not seen more (any) posts about the First Edition badges. In a car that has obviously been designed down to the last detail, am I alone in thinking that the badge looks like an after-thought? I think it would be a better solution to have a First Edition badge inside the car in front of the passenger, and to delete the current badge behind the door that looks the wrong size and does not really follow any of the lines or shapes around it.

I've had the same observation that the badge needed to be more upscale. The one on the showcars is rather underwhelming. The Emira is such a spectacularly beautiful car, I agree that it could use a better badge. In trying to keep with the basic theme, I came up with this idea. It's longer to fill up the space better, but if the actual space doesn't support this length, it could be shortened.

I’d actually like to change the first edition badges on the side of the car. Ideally the same shape and size but with the yellow Lotus badge and Emira across it. It’d tie up with the other yellow accents on my car. There is another custom badge thread on here. They seem to be able to do anything, so you might want to have a look at that thread. However, I asked how to contact them, but didn’t get a reply.

Nice one. I've been lurking for a while on here but never posted before as I didn't have a Lotus!! HOWEVER... I am due to pick an Emira in September from Stratton Motor Company. It literally can't come soon enough!!

Thank you for the compliment. I haven't, nor am I aware of anyone else making a badge like this one. I'm sure it could be done, but I don't know who to contact.

Since I don't have the car yet- September for me- and I can't remember from the test drive, can you tell me if a sticker may be placed over the top of the badge? Is it embossed at all etc etc. I only ask as my wife has a special type of printer for all that sort of stuff as she uses it for her business. If you could gete a few up close photos of the badge itself, I may be able to get a load printed off for people on here- custom designs etc. I just don't want it to look like a sticker if that makes sense Cheers

Anything put on top of the badge is going to look like that's what it is. The production badges are actually fairly nice. There's a member on the forum from China (maybe they'll respond) who had some black and gold badging made that look like factory badges. That company (whoever it was) would be able to make badges for you that look original.

It can be done but the problem is shipping with pre-paid tariff. Very expensive with 7 days by air. If you guys really want custom badges you should do a group buy.
