Emira - Car wash - engine compartment flooding ? - SOLUTION

Simply avoid spraying water rear to front in the hatch area. Real question is why Lotus left a gap. See Audi R8 for comparison.
It's not for lols, or because they ran out of glass or something. It vents heat from the engine bay, and contributes to downforce on the rear deck lid / lip.
In my experience, "simply avoiding" getting water in there isn't practical. Sticking something soft in the gap while you wash is a perfectly cromulent solution.
🤷‍♂️

Ehhh what happens when you remove the 'dam' and the pooled up water behind it rushes in? My biggest 'complaint' isn't that water gets in while washing, more so I don't care for the soap suds. The water drains easily enough -- but there's also the side vents that allow the same water & soap in -- it's easier to just minimize pressure washing directly in those areas and then open with a towel ready to catch all the drips.

Agree with @djprov431 , my biggest problem with it is remembering not to blow the water inward, otherwise, I get to clean the back window, again.
