Dry rotted and cracked shield

Hey folks

2025 V6 MT Emira. Hood has never been opened by me since new. Now with 2200 miles.

I opened the hood yesterday to facilitate swapping the brake fluid to Castrol SRF for track use.

There is a flexible vinyl/abs/rubber shield directly under the brake booster that I think is designed to keep water and spilled fluid from getting on the steering components underneath it.

Mine is a complete mess. Extreme dry rot with torn and cracked areas all over it. It appears to be in about 3 pieces now.

I’m gonna make an appointment with my local service department to have them take a look and I assume they will replace it? Anyone else had similar issues? It’s almost like they chose excessively inferior material to make the shield.

Water membrane

I have a 2026 and I opened the hood to see the membrane that was a recent fix to keep water out of the resistors. Mine looks like all bunched up and wraps up towards the brake fluid reservoir. Anyone else have pics on how theirs are positioned?
