Defeat airbags

How do I make sure the airbags don't deploy? Disconnect the battery? Disconnect the airbag ECU? I'm just starting to pull the car apart and don't want the airbags going off.

Please help. The manual isn't much of one.

Disconnect the battery and then wait two hours.
Continue to pull apart.

2 hours!? I thought it was more like 30 min

30mins generally, but if I was pulling stuff apart I would prefer a safety net and to know that those capacitors are truly discharged.
