Dash Cam Install tips

Yes, my apologies as I originally recommended this connector, and I also noticed that it is on after ignition is off, but times out after about 15 min. I also need to pull my footwell apart and move my 'always on' connector. Here is the fuse panel from the manual, but I fixed it as the manual shows an incorrect mirrored image. I don't want to touch any SRS wires, so I'll probably leave a door open for 20 mins, then put a meter on each tab and see where I can get 12vdc.
Did you ever find a suitable "always on" fuse to power the dash cam? I just purchased a redtiger F7N touch but it requires me to purchase a hardware kit for the parking features.
Also, I have privacy glass. Has anyone installed the separate rear camera on any of their units and how well does it actually work? I also have a rear spoiler but I didn't want to go through the effort of running line for rear camera if it wasn't worth it?

No, I still need to do this, but the weather has been too nice so I've been driving instead. :) I plan to do it this weekend and will post in this thread with what I find. Regarding the rear camera, I haven't installed mine yet because I haven't decided where to put it. I am thinking about putting it on the inside of the rear inside window, but it would definitely have better capture if it was on the engine glass or mounted back by the license plate. The problem is I'm just not sure how to get a wire out to that area without drilling or making it look like crap. Being that the Emira sits so low I may mount it to the bottom of the inside rear window for now and see how it works.

Have fitted my rear one to the glass with a fabricated bracket which gives it enough clearance from the glass itself. I`ll take a photo when i`m back home.

100% the glass to the rear screen would be the best but i was worried about the temperatures frying the camera or the wiring.

I went through my system yesterday and verified the wiring connections. I have the switched lead for the camera connected to fuse 44 and the always on connected to fuse 12. I confirmed after about 2 hours that fuse 12, which is for the passenger seat, stays active. The fact that the passenger seat no longer moves after about 20 mins appears to be a downstream voltage cut because the fuse always outputted 12 volts.

I also use this opportunity to modify the fuse cover to make it easier to remove. Next time. You can see an attached photos that I cut the corner off of the folded aluminum, and also remove the carpet from the underside lip, which makes it far far easier to install and remove.
