Of course that’s the safe route. I don’t think you’ll be able to with a Quickjack though. Perhaps you’ll need to get a different jack.

This is mostly a CYA in the manual to make sure nobody drops a car off of jackstands or lift by forgetting about the weight balance of the car. Lifting along the rail and then placing a jackstand under jackpads A/B is a valid and safe way to do it and doesn't require you to buy a $1500+ fancy jack or a two post lift.

I only have a pair of Rennstands, so I am trying this. I purchased 4 of these for less than 2 more Rennstands. I will find out if the whole "you get what you paid for holds true. Should have test them by Wednesday at the latest.

Unless you need to get the rear wheels off- I jack from rear jack point, place jack stand under front jack point, wheel crib under rear tire, repeat for other side. If I need all tires off, I do the same thing except instead of using wheel cribs in the rear, I use two jacks on rear jack points with agm jack rods on them

Jackrods are a great solution if your hydraulic jack fits them.

I was also anxious about using non-standard jack points. I went with a PowerBuilt U-Jack that allows you to slide regular jack stands underneath and it's worked well the three times I've had the car up. These jack pads have also worked well for me.

Which wheels cribs do you use? The ones I found are extremely expensive.

What mount points are you using?
I had a long discussion on the phone with QuickJack. Even the 6000 ELX does not properly hit the offset jack points.

This thread is more about the Quickjack being suitable for the Emira due to the location of the lift points It is indeed, and our discussion is because we may disagree on some of your supporting evidence. But reasonable people can disagree, and again - to each his own :) I doubt an average...

TDLR: The jack points listed in the manual are likely located along the frame rail in what is convenient spots for a 4-point lift. You can jack the car up along any point of that rail and it's all load bearing. The only concern is making sure you take into account the rear-heavy weight bias of the car, i.e don't shift your lifting points too far forward. I use the rear jack points and the other end of the quick jack is a few inches off from the fronts.

Which wheels cribs do you use? The ones I found are extremely expensive.

The two part wheel (5" each, 10" total height) cribs by raceramps. They are pretty pricey for what they are. I wouldn't go any larger than the 10" because that usually is the max reach for a lot of jacks. It is pretty high off the grand as i can roll under with a creeper
