First of all.. has anyone actually replaced the factory fit tyres? And if so what mileage did you get?

Those that have, or when you do, will you stick with the custom bespoke 'LTS' tyres, or will you swap to something else?

On other car forums there has always been huge debate about sticking with the manufacturers custom specified tyres, or swapping them out. With brands like Porsche you've always had more options with maybe 3 brands to choose from for 'N' versions. But with Lotus we have just one track tyre and one sport tyre option. I'm sure there will be owners who want to swap to a non track Michelin, for example PS4.

PS4S is the popular choice, for good reason, but I opted for the Conti ECS02s on my GT. They are on par with PS4S, but have a stiffer sidewall and usually a few hundred bucks cheaper. TireRack frequently has Continental rebate offers. I run PS4S on my daily driven GTI, but wanted to try something new for the Lotus. Firehawk Indy 500s are available in the Emira size too and even less expensive than the ECS02s. I love those tires too!

After burning through a few sets of Cup2s I have been running the Nangkang CRS now which has been an interesting tyre. Incredible confidence within the first few sessions and a much stronger sidewall feel than the Cup2s. As expected if running full laps until out of fuel they get very greasy and under perform after 20 laps in a row on a hot day but any tyre will do that really. Have been happy with them but will be trying the AR1s next for it.
