Advice to everyone who lives in hot area or tracks and want to modify your exhaust

If anyone buys their clutch kit, I’d be interested in some feedback on its performance. Does it reduce/stop the horrible mechanical noise between 1 and 2K revs?
I think some of this has been isolated to part of shifter mechanism vibrating. Someone may have a partial DIY solution.

Let me see if I can fix

I doubt it, i suspect that's backlash in the final drive
Yeh, thanks. For me there’s two major issues with the manual gearbox, backlash and 1-2K noise. I think you’re right that the backlash is in the final drive. The noise, I’m not so sure. I wondered if it’s clutch related and JUBU doe a clutch upgrade.

For me the gearbox is by far the worst part of the car, so if it can be fixed with the JUBU kit then I’m in!

Agreed, I think it's from a diesel Toyota. and as such, never intended to turn @ 7+k.
It seems to me, it works fine when operating at what would be usual speed for the diesel, but as soon as you wanna go a little more spirited (upper rpm's) the syncro just doesn't like it wants to, or cannot, bring those gears to (a synchronized) speed in time. It also feels like the components within are very weighty, as in they have a lot of inertia, and don't like you moving them quickly.
I'm far from a Porsche fan (actually loath em) but the feel of a 718 shift is other worldly compared to Emira.

As far as the noise goes, I think the low rpm power pulses agitate that backlash at that low rpm, and the noise you hear is just that.

Ho Hum.

I'm gonna email JUBU about a potential group buy on the ventilation kit since I need one myself and I'm also considering the clutch kit they have. I'll ask about:

1) Any progress they have made with respect to proper documentation submission in order to get proper tariff duties charged.

2) Any potential discounts and quantity required.

As far as who will manage the group buy, I could do it but I know many of you are on the west coast and I am east coast. I'm assuming whoever manages the group buy will receive the whole package and will have to distribute via shipping?

Thoughts?

I'm definitely interested. I think freight to CONUS + US freight will still be pricey, so we'll have to see what options they offer. Unfortunately, I simply don't have the time to manage a group buy right now myself, but I am east coast (FL)

If you buy 10+, it might be cheaper to fly to Vienna with empty suitcases, meet Martin at the airport w proper vat refund forms (assuming he has learned how to generate them) and fly back.

You pocket 50% the money which would’ve gone to tariffs, avoid shipping expenses yourself, and pocket 50% the shipping savings. Should net out

Why not just put what you can fit inside a large luggage, that gets checked in, because they never check your luggage when you arrive, at least not at JFK airport.

When I order, I may just buy a few of them and offer on this forum first-come first-serve at cost + shipping. The only thing preventing me from ordering right now is the potential (almost certain) for incorrect import duties being charged. I don't want to have to put in another dispute with a shipping company potentially waiting months for resolution. I don't think JUBU has all their "shipping to U.S." gears functioning smoothly yet. I do believe they are working on it.

Honestly, who could keep up with what the US is charging nowadays? It's basically change on a daily basis...

agreed, let’s see if they can work out the freight. uPS DHL etc all offer freight forwarding services and limited brokerage so hopefully they see value on something like that. All they need is just to validate the HSTs to use for the goods…the rest should be straightforward.

The duties suck but the last two I paid were 30% of the stupid admin fees I paid the carrier…it’s a money making scam in many cases.

The Jubu kit shipped to US is $470 and with potential 50% tariff (unknown what it will exactly be) it comes out to around $700.

I actually can't tell what exactly is included, it's the precut mesh, looks like liner material for the edges?, the license holder, and they told me "ducts/fins" ? I'm going to compare with my shop just doing it full custom but they'd be chopping a carbon rear piece from aerie I don't have the stock rear pieces - the whole time is money thing

Chopping carbon no bueno. But this is the most expensive piece of mesh I’ve seen personally
