I am advising everyone who doesn’t want any limp mode issues to ONLY get a wrapped stainless steel exhaust with valve controller relocation kit from Boomgear through Aerie performance or use Mach 5 performance which may have copied boomgears. PERIOD!!!
I had to modify mine because I already got the titanium exhaust. It saddens me that the vendors know by now that this creates too much heat on most cars and don’t tell anyone.

My solution is posted on the “Exhaust valves” thread if you already have problems with your titanium exhaust causing overheating or limp mode issues.

Ryan might have found a way shipping to the US.

Would titanium exhaust with improved heat sheild or heat wrap work? Or with the weight of the wrap/sheild negate the the lower weight of the titanium exhaust?

It’s not a good idea to heat shield a titanium exhaust.

I see a "trunk cancel kit" and "active ventilation" becoming a thing...

Looks like a new modification.
I assume the whole diffuser needs to be removed and if the solid plastic that the license plate mounts to doesn’t come off, then it would have to be cut out.
Another choice is too cut out the center piece ourselves and glue a mesh screen to center and zip tie the plate. I did something similar to the front of my dodge challenger, but buying it from JUBU would be a cleaner look.

I'm going to go for it; for 400 bucks, it's a no brainer. Last time I had the diffuser off, I think it was one solid piece... but I could be wrong. If it requires cutting, I'm more than open to it...especially if it allows me to get on track without the car going into limp mode

Is this an issue as much (or more) because of the valve controller?

ie. Would a Ti exhaust be fine provided you don’t have the aftermarket valve controller as well?

I've been looking for this Mach 5 Performance relocation kit and can't find it. Emailed Mach 5... no answer.

I have some advice on this matter too. Remove the third cat, keep the stock exhaust, don't install a valve controller, and enjoy increased sound without any limp mode / melting issues!

Ok, not for everyone, but it satisfied my needs.

Trying to consolidate this information cause things are getting confusing:

THE PROBLEM: OEM Exhaust Valve controller and/or associated wires are melting causing Emira to go into limp mode.

REASON: High temperatures near the exhaust area from one or more of the following...

1. Titanium Exhaust (Primary reason but not all Emiras with titanium exhausts are having this problem)
2. Aftermarket diffuser without the vent that is present in the OEM diffuser (Contributing factor)
3. Tracking the car for extended periods on hot days. (Contributing factor)

SOLUTION: One of the following...

1. Don't get a titanium exhaust. Opt for an insulated/wrapped stainless steel exhaust instead. Problem most likely solved.

2. A working Milltek Valve Controller would solve this problem because it intercepts ECU communication with OEM Valve Controller. Even if the OEM Valve Controller malfunctioned, the ECU would not know. So, you can still use titanium exhaust if you have a working Milltek Valve Controller.

3. If you don't have or want to use the Milltek Valve Controller, you can get a OEM Valve Controller relocation kit to keep it away from heat.

4. A ventilation kit, like the one in this link, may or may not solve the problem but would definitely help.

Is this correct?

If you get the relocation kit, does the OEM Valve Controller still function?

If you want to keep the titanium exhaust, and you have a working Milltek Valve Controller, is there any reason to get the OEM VC Relocation Kit?
