My AC has failed and is blowing cool to Warm air.

Background: Purchased car (2024) in March. On delivery day I got 15 miles up the road and noticed I wasn’t getting cold AC. Took it back and they found a Schrader Valve leaking. Their fix was to replace both HIGH and LOW Schrader valves. Dealer then shipped the car to me as I live 3 hours away.

I haven’t been able to drive the car much since April and it hasn’t been hot until lately.

Now the car AC is not working. All the electronics are ops normal so I believe it is a slow leak. Since it did go from ICE cold (after the Fix) to cool/warm and now unbearable now that it is 88 degrees outside.

Today I recognized that the driver side vents (Left and Center) blow air warmer than the passenger side (Center and Right). The AC is still not blowing cold air, but I can feel a cooler (Less than warm) air coming from the PAX side….

Can anyone tell me why that would be? I am trying to figure out as much as I can before I bring the car in for warranty AC work on Monday.

Thanks.

A/C Resistor Fix Done at Lotus Dealer

I had a similar A/C issue on my March 2024 delivery FE Emira, with around 1,000 miles on the clock at the time. Like you described last July, it happened on one of the hottest days here in Central Ohio. I took it to the local Lotus dealer, and they said they installed a resistor as a fix. It seemed to resolve the problem.

However, about a year later—during a one-hour drive with a few stops on another hot Ohio day—the A/C temporarily switched from cold to warm for about 10 minutes, then corrected itself and started blowing cold again. I’ve driven the car several times since without any issues.

The only thing that stood out was that I had been driving a bit more spiritedly just before the A/C started acting up. Not sure if that’s related, but figured I’d mention it.

Thanks for that info. I was ruling out the resistor fix as mine does have that and the latest software. But, now maybe mine could be acting up. I have a3 hour drive Monday so it will gave it time to maybe turn back on or totally fail hot 🥵
