Jeez, warranty runs out on the 6th January and the gearbox refuses to engage 1st, 2nd and reverse!

Has anyone had a similar issue, if so what was the solution? V6 manual.

The gears you’ve mentioned are the ones that a lot of people have had issues with and can be fixed by adjusting a plate under the shifter boot. I’d ring a Lotus garage first and get the issue registered ASAP before your warranty runs out. You can then decide to have a look yourself (the adjustment is pretty easy) or get a Lotus healer to look at it.

I've emailed JCT600 and will call tomorrow. The car is parked forward on a drive so hopefully can push out to get to them.

A quick update. Turns out the warranty ran out yesterday, it isn't until the car is registered on the road at all. Dealer won't touch it unless Lotus approve the work, obviously, Lotus CS will be getting back to me with a yes or no today. Both Lotus CS and dealer closed on a Sunday so hopefully that will sway the decision.

Bad luck or what.

Thanks, I looked at that and missed it.

Do you have to remove all this out? Are those screenshots off Instagram?

When does the warranty start then? And how do we check on our ours?
I also assumed it was from the date it was registered.

I also assumed it was from the date it was registered.

This should be it for most cases:
The Warranty Registration Date shall be the first occurring of the following dates:
  1. The date on which the vehicle has covered 65 miles (100 km);
  2. The first anniversary of the date of delivery of the vehicle to a Lotus Retailer by the Company;
  3. The date of first registration (road licensing), including registration of vehicles used as demonstrators; or
  4. The date of delivery of the vehicle to the first retail owner

So did I, but the dealer emailed a copy of the original document showing 5th 2023 to 4th 2026, registered 6th January 2023. I presume your dealer can provide one for you.

Well someone did something wrong then, my quote is off the original Warranty booklet. Maybe someone missed a key or something

I didn’t need to do it for mine as a Lotus tech did it when my gearbox was replaced. I know a few people on here have done it, so I’ll let them comment.

Can you give me a page number etc for that, or a photograph, please? I have the following booklets:
Infotainment guide
Service booklet
Owners handbook
Quick start guide

No warranty booklet.

You can download it from here:

Contacted Lotus CS with the info on the warranty from date of 1st registration, it's been passed to the warranty team. Thanks for everyone's input, appreciated.

Looks like it could be a simple task to get to the bolt in question.
