In Europe you can easily find a memory box like the ones for Porsche. Mostly combined with the exhaust open. While intended only for track use, every ADAS function is remembered at startup.

I’ve been able to compare my 24’ to a 26’ as well. Agree with you that the shifter linkage is improved; smoother transition with a better feeling gear engagement. My dealer rep suggested that the Nannies are with every startup for now, but anticipate it becoming a one time on/off situation in the future (no specific timeframe). It’s a big turn off for me though so I’m going to hold off on trade-in. My rep also noted the cooling system has been optimized. I believe the supercharger cooling is with transmission cooling now instead of engine for improved IATs but don’t quote me. The front sensor isn’t a dealbreaker.

Not sure about cooling improvements. The supercharger has always shared a cooling circuit with the transmission. In the previously known design, the cooled water from the front auxiliary radiator went into the transmission water-oil exchanger first, and then the water-air exchanger in the supercharger. So technically, the supercharger air could be cooled first and thus be cooler, but then the transmission wouldn't be cooled as much. I don't know, but that's how it was. I am still unsure exactly what improvements to the cooling were made. It's one of those mysteries wrapped up in an enigma.

So, I was just watching Tiff Needel driving an Emira, in the video looks like you can't enable track mode while driving any longer. Not sure if this is just for 26, or if this is something thats going to hit us with a software update. If thats the case, I'll want to opt OUT of software updates.

Maybe this is something that will only be enabled on 26's with the stupid collision detection crap, but god hope it never makes it to the previous years.

Yeah right. I have zero buttons to press when I start up my car - well apart from the start button. What is he trying to turn off?

The answer is in your screen shot. it appears that all of the new sensors leveraged by the additional driver aides available for teh adaptive cruise control and other safety features interact with the traction control. So, it prompts you to ensure you do in fact want to disable them.

Previous model years didn't have the additional sensors (in particular the small box located under the front bumper/radiator intake area). So, I'm theorizing this is a non-issue for pre-'26 model year cars.

It’s not pressing “buttons” per-se, but have to first pull up the Quick Panel on screen, then press the screen 6 times for the features mentioned in my earlier post, initially to turn the 3 nannies off, then to confirm that, yes, I indeed intended to deactivate them until the next time I start the car.

No it's not just that it asks for confirmation - according to Tif in that vid he HAD TO STOP the car before it would let him go into track mode. As some others have noted if they're going to back date that idea into older i4s (I have a FE 2024) then I'm out of any software updates too.

Somebody needs to find out from Lotus what the facts are around this.

You have a 24 car, so no you dont. Last ICE is talking about 26 cars that have all the nanny assists, that need a high number of screens/buttons to disable.

Yeah being a bit thick I finally figured that out. What I haven't figured out yet is if when I take my 2024 into be serviced a software update won't change the functionality so that I would have to stop to engage track mode. I'm sure/hopeful things will become clear around that soon.

Yea, I knew about that, but there are no confirmations that this is what was done to newer Emiras as well, although it does make a lot of sense.

I got my Emira in November 2025, and the first thing I noticed was how well the shifter felt, even in first gear. I know there is a plate that can be adjusted but part of me wonders if perhaps some of these improvements like upgraded engine mounts quietly came into production existence on later 2025 models as well.

Like Nova the only thing nanny-wise I would have liked is blind spot monitoring, but if I had a choice between no nanny options like pre-26 models, or having to take all the nanny options like 26 onward, I am happy with none

When it comes to the cooling I will wait to have a better understanding of exactly what improvements LOTUS did, do I quietly have this upgrade, and also am I running into any issues with cooling.

We will see.

It's easy to check, you would have a small rectangular shaped box dead center of the radiator intake area. You can see it in the video. Can't miss it. Said another way, you can't get software updates for hardware that doesn't exist (on earlier cars).
