Need Advice. 24 VS 26

As someone that owns a 26, the nannie’s are fine as long as you take 10secs to turn them off when you boot up the car. I’ve gotten used to it and don’t mind.

However, if the 24 is new and offered with the same warranty as the 26, has had the rubber sheet update done and is the spec you want, it’s pretty much the same car. Save your money and get the 24!

The paint might bubble soon which means you get it fixed while in warranty. With a 26, who knows it might bubble as soon as the warranty ends!

I just can't get over having to come to a complete stop just to enable track mode. I should be able to freely enter and exit track mode at any time.

Thirdgen89gta was talking about MY26 which "features" the beloved ADAS. I love ADAS; the lack thereof makes my MY25 Emira feel very special.

I spoke to the dealer yesterday. The warranty does not start until the day I purchase it. Full 3/36 Warranty intact. Plus they offer an addition 3/36 (6/72 total) for $3800. I plan on putting at least 5k miles a year on it.

Seems like this might be a UK thing too. I had a 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 and even with that, I had to come to a complete stop to change modes and go into race mode and to remove traction control. It was the most annoying thing ever, whereas Ducati, BMW, etc never had that issue. I could change on the fly. After a few months of ownership, I dumped the Triumph for a Ducati primarily because of this and some other quirks.

Starting to piece the puzzle together on this nanny stuff. Might be a UK/Lotus decision. Needless to say, for me and my humble opinion, the 2026s are an absolute no go if I was in the market for one. It's obnoxious. You can't defend that.

Makes sense....some dealers purchased these car, put in demo status for 3 months. They add extension warranty to cover that time frame. Once past that, warranty starts to roll.

Worth a mention -- there are some new colors available now that are very appealing to some, including oranges and greens that weren't around in '24.

So once the dealer buys the car it triggers a sale, hence the warranty clock starts running?

The warranty starts when the car is registered, it could be by an individual or Lotus. Mine was a demo so I got it with 1.5 years of warranty left but I'm the only owner.

1.) Explain the differences between the two model years? Appearance/equipment/internals
2.) In his/her opinion, is the price difference justifiable?

I really appreciate any insights given.

To me it’s a no-brainer; assuming it’s a well kept and serviced car, the 24 has to be the winner. Not only do you save a fortune, but all the ADAS driver interference that manufacturers are obligated to install from 26 do annoy in the latest model.

Have you tried the V6 before you buy the auto ?

I'd go with the '24 as long as the rubber sheet update and software updates have been done and the paint isn't bubbling.

A recall to `retro-fit` a big bit of rubber sheet under the front bonnet to stop water dripping into the air-con electrics etc.

Interesting? It'll be useful if you can find out what changes were made - is it just the new engine mounts?

I was told the gearbox mount was refined for a smoother more precise shift. In the ‘26, the 1-2 shift felt less clunky and reverse felt smoother to engage.

Power flex has inserts for the mount now, but install sounds like quite a bit based on other threads

Wait you have to stop the car to switch drive modes??? What? LOL that's insane. I go back and forth across all three modes 100x while driving depending on if I'm taking a call (back to touring mode) or alone on twisties (track)

I suspect it has more to do with turning off most of the traction control (when going into Track mode) and the possible legalities of doing that.
However that said I don't think there's anything in the EU GRS mandates that covers anything to do with traction control.
As far as I can tell there's no reason why you have to be stopped to change into Track mode to meet the EU rules about ADAS etc.
