Correct. You can change the spec after locking in. I did a week after locking in after seeing the colours in person. No sympathy and bumped out of the queue into "sometime" in 2023. Pisses me off but it is what it is. Rather have my chosen spec on order, but looking at alternatives now.

I just re-watched the EVO review and have changed my take on it. Initially I wanted to hear only good things, but I now think he's spot-on with his observations, and not Cayman biased etc. He too wants it to be better like us. Engine = okay, Gearbox = okay are both fair. Too heavy - I think so...

There is a large amount of black in the quarter light behind the glass from the B pillar, that makes privacy glass tricky to spot (this is not a privacy equipped car). It will be more noticeable on the engine lid. Worth having IMO as the engine isn't exactly a jewel to behold and would still be...

DCT is an impressive technical solution but no longer streets ahead of an auto box. ZF Autos now shift so well BMW use them for the M3/M4. Add to the fact you don’t have the complexity and cost of a dual clutch replacement, auto is a good choice for a daily driver coping in traffic and B-road...

Agreed. I’m pretty sure I saw some on the factory tour that looked like any other silver painted alloy wheel with a clear coat gloss lacquer.

Soul red is a cracking colour, but unfortunately Magma isn’t the same. If it wasn’t on the Emira, it’s rather boring imo. So many similar reds on the road at the moment.

I got the same answer. Once locked into the factory production schedule, changes put you in to 2023. This is because all build slots are allocated for 2022. I decided to change anyway, so I guess my build gets offered to a similar deposit holder.

What about the fact that the manual V6 is the only model with the mechanical LSD. Another big tick in the V6 box for me.

No point in having heavy gas struts for a bonnet that doesn’t open. It’s only needed for service elements like brake fluid change.
