Sluggish throttle compared to Demo a year ago

Ironically I feel like my car is significantly quicker than the euro spec demos I drove. I walked away fairly concerned about power but after 1,200 miles I don’t need any more power at all. It has plenty unless you’re out there trying to drag race people.

That my actual car! People rave about the spec and color. I’m very happy with everything about it! GLWS! Great deal for someone

What's the actual cost of PPF Film? Bulk? Pre-cut?

Not to my knowledge. I spoke to the shop today that did this as it's only a few miles from my house in Raleigh.

Love them to death but it does make it hard to find time to get out in the Emira for sure! Congrats on the 4 month old. My wife and I are definitely looking forward to when the tiny one can sleep through the night!

Sorry to hear about your paint situation/condition. From all the Emiras I've seen in person (and I've seen a couple dozen or so), the darker colors seem to suffer more from the swirl marks and paint issues. My Nimbus Grey looks pretty much perfect and I've washed it twice by hand looking for...

What's the actual cost of PPF Film? Bulk? Pre-cut?

I've been told a full wrap of the Emira can be done in 8 hours including paint correction. Is that nonsense?

The 95% PPF + 5% revivify (in areas where PPF is not suitable) was offered through Lotus Cape Fear for $6,000 to Emira purchasers. I would've had PPF done during the wait but I wasn't yet convinced. I added it during purchasing negotiations when I picked up the car on March 8. It carried a 10...

Came across this last night randomly: These guys work right off Falls of Neuse here in Raleigh and I drive right past there all the time. Looks like they did a pretty sick job and he mentions the owner got the car from LCF. I wonder if that person is here on this forum?

I suppose we can compare in a year or so? My PPF is going on tomorrow w/ the revivify for other areas. Side note, anyone going to Cars & Coffee Morrisville on Saturday? I'll be there with some of my family along with the Emira.

I can understand the trepidation. However, I haven't had any issues like that in over a decade with any of my previous cars so I suppose I'm more of a nonchalant type. Plus, if I worry about how, when, and where I drive the Emira all the time it takes out some of the fun for me. Lastly...

Quick run to Food Lion (AKA the "shitty kitty") after the gym to pickup stuff for the infant. On the way, two guys in a work truck stop at a stoplight behind me in the other lane to take pictures of the back of the Emira and then rolled up to me and said a bunch of nice things like "sick...

    Dashcam for the Emira

Yeah, I just plugged the Redline 360c (with M2 camera) into the 12V behind the armrest (finally found it...thanks user manual!) and it works flawlessly. The unit is new so I wanted to make sure that wasn't an issue. I've already ordered the tap for the mirror to square this away. I guess I'll...

Any concerns having PPF applied during pollen season?

It will be in a garage so not entirely outdoors. It's just not a properly air-filtered garage for this type of work during pollen season (at least that is my concern).

    Dashcam for the Emira

I went with the 12" smaller one. It might be that the Redline 360c pulls/requires more current than the MAX 360? Which one do you have?

    Dashcam for the Emira

I went with this same one but when I hooked it up tonight to my Redline 360c it seems like it doesn't have enough juice. The redline acts strangely and the screen goes on and off. Disappointing. I might have to go the tap route.

Any concerns having PPF applied during pollen season?

Well, it is under warranty by Lotus for 10 years but yeah, I definitely don't want to be messing around with that scenario. I'll have a chat with the installer about it. They probably have methods to ensure this doesn't happen but I'd like to know what those methods are!

Any concerns having PPF applied during pollen season?

I'm having PPF installed this week and I was just asked if it could be done on-site in my own garage by the installer (he brings all of his own lighting/equipment etc.) The question I have is, since we're in the height of pollen season here in NC, should I be concerned at all about this or do...

I ended up ordering the full PPF package from LCF when I picked up my Emira a few weeks back and it's slated to be installed this Thursday. It doesn't include ceramic over the PPF but I may add that depending on how it looks/feels. Like @Xroyalnavy, I saw the PPF on the Magma one at LCF and...

    Outer Banks ideas?

If you haven't already, I would highly recommend taking a tour of the USS North Carolina (battleship) in Wilmington on your way up. I did it many years ago and want to go back. It's a really cool experience to get to tour the inside and outside of a real life battleship. I plan to take my...

Count me in. My Emira is here in north Raleigh and would love to see some of her siblings :) I took it to a casual park and meet yesterday over off Capital and everyone loved it. Love the "oh wow that's a Lotus?!?" comments that I get all the time. Also, drove it to the gym the other day and...

Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

I did more testing today and found it does not happen in neutral. In fact, it also doesn’t happen in 1st or 2nd gear. It happens with any acceleration from 3rd-6th gears. EDIT: After getting home I watched your videos. Mine sounds exactly like yours. I'll talk to my dealer about the shifter...

Low beam headlights too low? Can we adjust them?

Thanks for sharing the post. Respectfully, I DID search for this on search engines, in the handbook, and on this forum. Unfortunately, forum application search algorithms are often fairly useless. For example, my previous search of "headlight adjustment" returned this despite the existence of...

Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

I do not believe it's the valves. It doesn't change with revs. It sounds more like a vibration-caused ticking noise than an engine-caused sound. I'm shocked nobody else has jumped in here. I'll see if I can get some sound clips of it.
  30. K_Squared

Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

Definitely doesn't sound like it's coming from that area. Sounds like it's a ticking noise somewhere behind the seats.

Low beam headlights too low? Can we adjust them?

Has anyone else driven at night and noticed this? Compared to my 340i I feel somewhat blind in the Emira with low beams. Conversely, the high beams are out of this world bright and reveal EVERYTHING but obviously I can't keep them on all the time :)

Do you notice a ticking noise during acceleration?

So I am loving the Emira and at this point I'm just looking into a few small quirks that are somewhat annoying to see if they are normal or exceptions. One such thing is that whenever I accelerate (doesn't matter if it's light or hard acceleration), I notice a subtle ticking noise that I THINK...

Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Fresh wash (#2) today. There is so much pollen here in NC that it's almost impossible to keep her clean but she sure does shine like a mirror after a nice hand wash! The silver wheels are also a bit of a pain to keep clean but IMO they're worth it. I've had several comments about how the...

    Tint Percentage with Privacy glass?

Here in NC it would be FAR too dark to match the privacy glass and be anywhere near the legal limit (35%). The privacy quarters look almost like limo tint. That's one reason I opted out of it (and I wanted to be able to see that beautiful engine). These tinted cars do look pretty badass, though!

Low beam headlights too low? Can we adjust them?

I've done a couple night drives in the Emira and the high beams are absolutely off the charts amazing. I feel like I can see EVERYTHING with them. However, the low beams seem like they're TOO low and on backroads at night where we have lots of deer around here I feel somewhat blind as they do...
