Lotus Emira Key Fob cases - initial run

I don't have red leather in my interior, but if this helps, attached is a photo showing the Banco red leather fob case, against the exterior Vivid Red color. Presumably the interior leather matches Vivid Red. The fob isn't a perfect color match but I like it a lot and have been using mine for...

    Malfunction 'Engine' Light

Agree with Kaz that a replacement battery is likely the easiest thing to try, although did the dealer test the other components? The shifting from 8th to 4th is concerning... To avoid you buying a new battery, would the dealer "lend" you a replacement one, to try out a few days? If it works...

    Toyota for check engine light?

There are several threads on the Forum dealing with OBD2 scanners. I bought a scanner, sent it back, then bought another more expensive. It worked good for my Mercedes and my spouse's Volkswagen Atlas SUV and had better diagnostics compared to the first cheaper one...but didn't work well at all...

Why Would I Ever Service the Emira at the Dealership?

First off, hopefully this is related enough to the original intent of this thread, to be on topic. Secondly, I understand the comments and respect the opinion of Steve24 and I've known many who express that view. Next, I've always done much of my own "spannering" (work on vehicles) so take my...

Trickle charger please help! UK please

Looks like you're wanting a response from someone in the UK. Until then, here's what I use in Canada over the winter months (it works well) with my Emira: the C-TEK MXS Battery Charger, SKU: 40-206. I found it for sale on the UK eBay site and suspect you'll find it elsewhere in your area. On...

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

TY and yes, I'm on the left. I'm now using my aftermarket Aerie V2 rims on my OEM GoodYear summer tires that came with the car. The car is now set up for track use and those rims save about 25 lbs of weight (all 4 rims). I'll put on my OEM rims that came with the car (shown in my profile pic)...

Spotted: Emiras seen in the wild

Had fun yesterday morning: for the first time in my city of just over one million people, and after 15 months, I saw another Emira and wouldn't you know it, its owner had excellent taste in exterior colors (lol). We met with the help of his son, who saw my car and I at a car wash, a couple...

Anyone in the east end of the gta (durham)

Welcome to the Forum and good luck finding someone local to talk to and good luck buying your Emira. "Emira issues:" there are plenty of Forum postings easily found by searching "problems" but below is one I think quite informative...

    Car Cover.

Like any vehicle, the Emira is designed to withstand the elements (rain/wind/etc.) so there's no need to worry about it being subjected to "heavy rain". Any water entry into the engine area (there shouldn't be much), will usually drain w/o hurting anything and the car is designed for that. That...

Hill Hold Assist - Is Mine Working?

My V6 manual "hill hold" works just fine, on steeper grades, as others have mentioned. One thing I now routinely do: when stopped on a steeper incline, with clutch in and pedal brake pressed, just before I go forward, I'll briefly "punch it" (accelerate; taking my foot off the brake pedal) to...

    Wet floor!

On a more constructive note, talk to your dealership to see what may have happened, involving water, when they replaced the driver side door. It sounds like that's in the works. It seems too coincidental, that they replaced the door and you're then left with water on that side/area. If you're...

This is not the car I ordered!

I'm curious to know if MiamiBlue's VIN tells him it's sport suspension, like his observed physical set-up...OR if not only the physical set-up is wrong (not as ordered), but the VIN matches what he ordered and says the car has touring suspension . Over to you MiamiBlue (lol; it rhymes...you know...

Sat for a month and it started fine!

There are other factors at play: the main one likely being where you parked your Emira (for example). If in a heated garage or any enclosure which protected it from temperature fluctuations...and/or if the outside temperature was mild/steady during the month it remained parked, you may have had...

Putting up for sale my Emira

Perhaps "invest" in a second service now (at least an oil/filter change), if there's some decent mileage put on, since the first one. That will show a better level of care to prospective purchasers and partially address one of the concerns of MiamiBlue. As for pricing, a typical starting point...

PPF shop chipped the paint on my brand new car, what should I do?

Thanks BlueFE2 for the end to that story. Repaired and a full wrap (for "free" compared to the original partial wrap) to make up for the hassle/delay...and no fight as to who was responsible. I'd say you did OK. Regardless, now you get to drive your Emira! Enjoy!

    4-point harness

Even though your website doesn't list these 4pt belts as compatible with the Emira, I take it they are, given your post on the thread. One Year & 14,000 Miles in a Lotus Emira V6 Manual

Here's one video explaining the water intrusion problem and a "UK Lotus fix" I've never seen before. That said, my Emira never had a problem with water affecting the electricals, so it never required any fix. I did hear about this water issue before.

    Looking for V6 Manual

If you can't find a "low mileage used one", my Lotus dealer in Calgary has a new but 2024 Emira for sale, in your color. However it's a V4 turbo automatic transmission which may be a deal-breaker for you. Since it's a 2024, I expect you'd get a really good discount, moreso with September around...

New configurator up at US site.

PPF comes in different colors. I wrapped my entire Emira, choosing clear PPF. You can do the same, choosing a PPF with your desired "plum purple", likely for an extra color charge. Or a slightly different color which achieves what you desire: talk to an experienced detailer who works a lot with...

    Emira track impressions

A question for you "track-rats": my last time in the Emira (3rd day; spread out over 2.5 months) on the track this past w/e, I came away with tires that picked up what appears to be "track asphalt" that seemed to be melted in uneven patches/lengths, onto the tires. This didn't happen the first 2...

Is leasing an Emira a good idea?

Leasing a new vehicle is a personal choice. I've never done it but (for example) my "car nut" brother-in-law always leases for 3 years, in spite of the extra cost he incurs. There's an element of gambling in it, IMO...since you're usually not sure whether the buy-out value at the end of the...

    📓 Journals kitkat's Emira

FWIW my "take" on larger tires/rims (street use) for some time has been: I. Pros a) looks; b) looks. II. Cons c) price: larger tires and rims typically cost more; d) road noise: larger tires usually have smaller side wall width and generate more highway noise; e) ride quality: feels bumps...

    CEL error code reader

This topic has been covered before on the Forum: there are a couple threads you'll find, with a search of "ODDII". That said, the BlueDriver mentioned by Rcktmn above, looks to be the best generic scanner I know of so far, since it has "Lotus" on its vehicle menu, unlike most others. So it...

Makes me glad I paid for a PPF full-wrap on my Emira. Hopefully it'll "save the day" for me as well and prevent any paint damage, in the event of a minor sideswipe-type impact. Reminds me of my long distant past: my first job right out of high school was working at Canada Safeway; the best...

Emira Lightweight Alloy Forged Wheels by Aerie Performance

As I posted elsewhere on the Forum, I purchased the Aerie V2's and they took longer than expected to arrive. You won't regret doing the doors and having already done the rear area and knowing what to do, I'd say you'd regret NOT doing the doors. Like the rear area, the door job has its own "quirks" (a few more challenges actually) so looking at the Forum threads that deal with this, provides really...

    Puddle lights in door

I thought mine worked, regardless of the ambient light conditions. I didn't focus on that so I can't say 100%. If it's bright outside, you'd have trouble seeing it on the ground. There's no "polarity issues" with the Emira: the new puddle lights, like the OEM, work the same way on either side...
