Is a battery tender supposed to be included at delivery?

Hey y’all, It looks like some of y’all may have received Lotus-branded battery tenders when taking delivery of your cars. I had an inflator in my trunk, but no tender. Thoughts? Thanks

Cosmos black with full black pack? With Gloss black wheels? With Black Calipers? Batman?

Yes, you’ve got the spirit of it. The fellow that process and confirms this spec at Lotus will think Batman or some very strange funeral home has ordered the car.

Cosmos black with full black pack? With Gloss black wheels? With Black Calipers? Batman?

I think cosmos black has some metalic , whereas the black pack is just gloss black. I could be wrong. If Cosmos Black is gloss black with no metalic, that would be hilarious that Lotus would let you spend extra for that.

Cosmos black with full black pack? With Gloss black wheels? With Black Calipers? Batman?

Just wondering if anyone has a black car with a black pack and photos to share. In another universe where I have endless funds, I ordered the car I have plus a Cosmos Black with full black back, black calipers, and black wheels. With the privacy glass. And ice gray interior. KIDDING! BLACK...

What does it do better than supercars?

My friend, the temptation to modify is strong. The mind is willing but the body is weak! I am used to changing, modifying, customizing, and on and on and on. I’m doing my best to leave this one alone! ….except for the exhaust. And maybe wheel spacers, and make it just a touch lower. ‘Cause...

What does it do better than supercars?

There is very little on the road today that is a truly pretty design like the Emira. There are lots of aggressive and technical looking cars, but most of them have an insect, jet fighter, or race car design language. The Emira is singularly organic without being overwrought. What makes the...

Looking for Floor Mats for the Emira

This may be an odd comparison, but I have wondered how the last generation Viper compared dynamically to the manual 599, 575, and 550.

Looking for Floor Mats for the Emira

I am sure that it is epic! I just need the 599 prices to come down to Emira prices. If only I had had to choose between a 599 with a standard transmission or a new Emira!

    Savage Geese review

I am ok with the shape of the seats, generally speaking. They look cool, and fit me reasonably well. The do feel a bit puffy to me, but as they wear I think they will feel better and better. I do wish I could get the seats 2-3 inches lower. Forward visibility would be improved for me in the...

    Savage Geese review

The Esprit of nearly any year is a bargain. A first or second generation Esprit is a very undervalued classic. Great, now I have to head over to BaT to see what S1 and S2 Esprit’s cost…

    Eventuri development

An Evora notice is not an Emira notice! Also, if no tune is required, it looks like a very easy modification to reverse prior to taking the car in for any warranty work. I'm not sure that the sound and the performance is worth the price. The power gain is like a good tank of gas and a nice...

    Savage Geese review

Yeah, I know aesthetics are subjective, but man, the Emira is a great looking car. There is a huge amount of value in that for me. I will trade some ultimate performance for looks. I think it's one of the best looking cars of the last 30 years. Some have criticized it as derivative of McLaren...

    Savage Geese review

8-10 year old me had the performance stats of many, many cars memorized based on the 2 page table in the back of every Road & Track. I miss those days! And yes, I would read those magazines cover to cover multiple times. Once I had exhausted the monthly magazines, I would flip through parts...

    Savage Geese review

I do chuckle a bit whenever people badmouth the reliability of the Emira. I know, I know, but hear me out. This car hasn’t been on the streets long enough to comment about long term reliability. We forum members live in an echo chamber of complaints and niggles. As far as engine reliability...

    Savage Geese review

What do y’all think? Overall, I think the review is fairly representative of the car. I have never driven the competition, so I can’t say anything about how. Cayman/Boxster/GT/GT4 compare. I do agree that there’s just nothing else like the Emira on the market.

What did you do to your Emira today?

What did I do with my Emira today? I made a Lambo jealous! I was taking a quick trip to the grocery store with my daughter to pick up a birthday cake, when lo and behold, I see a yellow Huracan headed the opposite direction. I thought about doing a 180 and chasing it down, as I love Huracans...

Published TSB - CARB compliance ECM update

I feel like I’m living inside a John Grisham novel. “A Time To Stall” “The Lotus Brief” Porter’s gonna blow the lid off the case in this sleepy town, and it ain’t never gonna be the same after.

    Lightweight seats

I don’t really know why OEMs get uptight about stuff like this. I highly doubt Lotus will offer a seat option that competes with what you have to offer. So why hold back of OK’ing Bridge of Weir? All this does is drive business to a different leather supplier. Come on Lotus, you used to be cool.

    New correspondence from Lotus

Yes, you already have one, but you could have two. And historically, with Lotus, two is one, and one is none. Meaning you better have one to drive while the other is in the shop.

Track vs. Sport mode with US-spec cars

In my experience, it’s perfectly safe for street use in the dry. I haven’t tried it in the wet yet. The tires on this car are pretty dang wide and sticky, and the power isn’t so much that it overwhelms the grip unless you’re trying to get it unstuck, or full throttle around a corner. Very...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I don’t know what number of vehicles Lotus has to sell in the US to be successful in this market. I think they will have a tough road to hoe. The Lotus brand cachet is based on an almost cottage industry production of well priced, low volume, crafted sports cars built with an ethos of less is...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

If I had my way, an American made all aluminum NA V8, a la Corvette or Mustang, would be where the Emira’s engine is. The supercharged Toyota V6 is probably the next best thing as far as parts, durability, reliability, etc.

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I'm not into brand snobbery. I don't understand why someone wouldn't buy a C8 just because it's a GM product. I've always thought that the "prestige" brands are too often given a pass on quality control and absurd maintenance schedules just because they are exclusive. For example, I really...
