Interior trim panel, below rear window - how is it fixed in place?

A VERY helpful and generous Forum member was selling them at a very reasonable price. I don’t know if he still is. Check out this thread: https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/workshop-manual.6376/#post-175064

New Everyday Driver video - 1 year of ownership, and v6 compared to i4

Amazingly good and free PR for Lotus and especially the Emira. These guys should be invited for a free track day at Hethel. Great video! Thanks for posting it ADC.

Plastic panel trim on the side of the base of the seat keeps popping off

FWIW: I've had no issues whatsoever with my side seat trim pieces, after having each side on/off several times. Once I figured out how to reinstall them (inserting the top tabs first), it went smoothly and created a tight fit. The response to this thread suggests it's a common problem, however...

VF Tuner - Upgraded Supercharger Lid

Having powder coated my OEM lid to color match, I think any improved after-market replacement lid should be absolutely outlawed (lol). Consider offering different Emira colors if you want your sales to skyrocket (hint : Vivid Red is a VERY nice color).

How would you rate this full-body PPF job?

First you need to compare the job done, to the original deal made. If you were told they'd use a template, plus expand its dimensions so they'd have extra material to wrap around the edges and avoid tell-tale lines, then you didn't get what was promised. On the other hand, if you were told to...

    Ever seen your mirror match?

Not actually seen but I was told while at a car wash, getting rid of the main grime after 2 track days (to prep for a hand wash), that someone had the exact match to mine: color, transmission, upper black pack, and rims. The person who spoke to me, said it was his father. Despite giving him my...

Plastic panel trim on the side of the base of the seat keeps popping off

If the 2 upper tabs are properly installed in their "slots" but then the one lower clip refuses to stay in, you should consider removing the plastic trim piece entirely ("taking it off" so it's only connected by the wiring), to better see what's happening with its lower clips and the one clip in...

Plastic panel trim on the side of the base of the seat keeps popping off

This piece "clicks" in, however it first has to be "hooked onto" the side of the seat, in 2 places (rear end, plus around the middle). I'm wondering if your piece is properly hooked in place. If not, perhaps (?) that's why it's not holding. I experienced the same problem after I'd taken mine...

    Luggage talk

If you want a really nice made-to-fit set of custom luggage, check out the thread below. I'm sure that Colin would be happy to take your order/money and given the number of pieces already sold to Forum members (including me), he may honour the "group-buy price" if you ask...

What did you do to your Emira today?

I treated myself to a similar car meet today: the annual Alberta All British Motoring Society Field Meet. The almost constant rain resulted in less than half of the usual cars showing up (55 came). I was hoping to see another of the several rumoured Emira’s in my City, but mine was the only one...

    Speakers behind seats

Not a "silly question". I know there's a subwoofer in the rear passenger side (N. American car with left hand drive) plus each rear side has a smaller speaker, which I assume is at least a mid-range (and perhaps tweeter combined). So 3 rear speakers and I saw them when I took my car apart, to...

What did you do to your Emira today?

I'm the opposite: I think the mirrors detract (draw attention away) from the other pin striping and contrasting color, with that other pin striping looking great against the Verdant Green and to define the edge(s). My eyes focus on the bottom of the car (calipers, centre caps, pin stripe)...but...

    FOMO Engaged - Girodisc/Ultradisc

    OBD II reader/scanner recommendations

Like others, I can now recommend the BlueDriver OBD2 scanner. Unlike the more expensive scanner I originally purchased, the BlueDriver actually has “Lotus” amongst the car manufacturers it recognizes, so it works better for the Emira.

    Bodywork Protection

I'd say "the usual" PPF areas (and the windshield), will suffice (all the front, the lower rockers, mirrors, A-pillars and at least the first 6-8" of the hood, although I now usually do ALL the front hood and its sides on my vehicles). I only PPF'd my entire Emira, since I see it as my "keeper...

    Bodywork Protection

Ditto for the windshield protective film. Last year my detailer installed what was then a fairly new and more expensive product: Ultrafit Evo. I was used to paying (Canadian pricing) about $200.00 installed for windshield film, on my previous sport cars. I paid $500.00 for the Ultrafit Evo. I...

VF Tuner for the Lotus Emira

Any "new tunes" for the Emira will be welcomed and I expect others will jump on the bandwagon, given the number of Emiras produced and their continued production. So far, we've had JUBU and JB4 as viable options. If you're able to combine the JUBU "rev limiter recalibration" with the JB4 lower...

    📓 Journals Pushing Limits

Thanks gwman. I checked out "clubregistration". Anything I'd buy from them won't work on ceramic coating, which my car has. I'll keep looking for something that I can easily peel off and hopefully re-use at least a couple of times.

Great write-ups (thanks!). Nice to get the comparison between the Emira and your M2/Supra/Carrera. I'm assuming the track car #26 on its side, is a stick-on. I didn't go that fancy: my first time out I used painter's tape, to create my numbers...yours certainly look far more...

GRP decat pipe and Milltek Valve Controller

I’m looking for verification that I’ve correctly characterized the 3 Milltek valve control settings. With the car set for sport mode: #1: this is the loudest, so 100% fully open valve. This is a no-brainer. #2: this is somewhat quieter, but not much. I say this is the OEM setting. #3: this is...

Emira GRP Third Cat Delete Pipe and Milltek Active Valve Exhaust Control Install Video

This job is easily done by any muffler shop. They may want to cut out the OEM pipe to speed things up. I'd suggest telling them not to and that you want to keep the pipe, so you can sell the car with all its original parts.

What did you do to your Emira today?

I purchased mine for about US$30 + ship, from TaoBao, which some describe as the Chinese eBay. It took some effort, using Google Translate. You can also buy it with less of a language barrier but for more money, from AliExpress. Last I checked, anyway. Good luck finding yours.
