Haha, true. Canada has so few Lotus dealerships though, so I'm happy knowing that it will at least get more than any other. The market in Vancouver for these kinds of cars is really something else.
Hard to say. The manual M2 Competition is faster than its DCT version, despite having the exact same horsepower. A lot of different factors will come into play, including launch control on the DCT and weight, but I think we'll have to wait until reviewers get their hands on both.
Just received this email from Lotus Vancouver. Apparently they will be reaching out within "weeks" to finalize spec options and receive the second deposits. It also says Vancouver will be getting the majority of Canadian allotments, due to how well the dealer did selling Evora GT's, and...
Yeah, I wouldn't worry about this too much. As others have said, the grey car is production height, while the blue is 20mm lower for show purposes. The grey car has quite reasonable ground clearance.
I think your main complaint here is about aesthetics, not actually about an out-of-date infotainment system. Lotus is obviously going for simplicity and elegance. But again, not much difference from a brand new BMW cockpit. Picture is from tonight in a 2021 X5. Note the navigation.
Not the best quality but gives you a rough idea of what they look like. Also note the tinted black windows. Personally, I like the look of the diamond cut wheels better with this colour.
What are you smoking? Your 10 yr old XJ has G meters, lap time charts, graphs, full bluetooth connectivity, etc?
I was just demoing a 2021 BMW X5 earlier today and honestly its infotainment isn't too dissimilar to what's shown in this video.
The idea of Alcantara being a "premium" material is one of the most successful falsehoods ever perpetrated by the automotive industry, and is strictly put forth to make money off unwitting buyers. This video explains why its pricing has nothing to do with quality:
Actually, I just double checked this. Are you sure your numbers are right? My conversion of the front track comes in at 63.307 inches on the Emira, not 73.6.
73.6 is actually wider than the car itself, not including mirrors.
Wow, I’d only ever looked at the overall width of the car. The track widths really tell you though that this car is a lot wider than something like the 718.
Edit: had a closer look at the design now and see how this is possible. The sculpting of the Emira body inwards at the top of the doors...
I’ve researched this long and hard and the consensus from long-term owners on the internet is that alcantara steering wheels aren’t worth it... they get dirty and ruined and can’t be properly cleaned or restored to their original state. When new, they are a better driving experience than leather...
