I'm sure you'll get plenty of better informed replies shortly, but if you've got an FE 1.0 allocation locked in and you bail on it for a new allocation in Texas you're going to be waiting a long, long time as most FE 2.0s are already far gone at this point so you'd be looking at a base model...
I'd really like to do another test drive at some point if it's reasonable distance from me (Raleigh, NC). Does anyone know of any Emira test drives available in the region?
I think it's a a clever, alliterative way to express the mental journey that @TomE has experienced while attempting to move from the Evora on to the Emira ;) Or perhaps his take on what others may be feeling (particularly the last one on the list)
I hope you're right, @Porter. I'm eager to experience that Lotus ownership experience and I (as I'm sure many others) appreciate your posts in this forum. Perhaps when we have our Emiras we will have a regional meet-up sometime since we're both in the mid-Atlantic USA!
I see nothing wrong with revving up a sports car to anyone who wants to hear it roar (within reason of course, not in a neighborhood at night kind of thing). After all, aren't these things basically toys to be enjoyed? If that's immature then I guess I'll be a kid forever like you @Magicman :)
I like them all but I don't know if I could ever justify $5K for just a wing. It feels wrong in my soul. Also, how is the diffuser less than 1/4th the cost of the splitter? It seems like from a materials perspective they'd be relatively close albeit the splitter is more intricate to fabricate...
I pulled this from a Facebook group:

It's no V6 but it sounds pretty decent IMHO
Yeah it's difficult to find manuals at all in the U.S. nowadays and over the past decade or so they've almost faded entirely from existence. That's probably a big part of the reason the manual was so much more fun to me. It brought me back about 15 years to the last time I owned one and...
I'm not sure what will make it 'better' for a sports car. This week I test drove a 2020 Evora GT Auto just before test driving a 2011 Evora manual. Although the GT looked much more aggressive and impressive overall, the auto was laaaame and I had much more fun in the older Evora despite the...
What color is your Evora? There's a very similar one (albeit slightly different) I'm eyeballing that has yellow calipers painted in Vivid Green Metallic. The dealer photos make the color look a bit different but I LOVE the color of yours in your photos.
Welcome to the forum, @elise17! Whereabouts in the USA are you from? Whether you've already got a deposit on the Emira or just here for fun, we're happy to have you!
That looks like an epic 8 minutes of fun. It is also quite a respectable time with having to pass other cars and with the added passenger weight. I'd bet it could hit well under 8 minutes without those factors which puts it up there in some fairly elite company in terms of Nurburgring records!
This is a valid argument.
Does anyone have estimated delivery numbers in the UK and elsewhere to-date of the Emira? Just to throw out some ballpark/wild guess numbers, If they are producing ~20 cars per day for the last ~6 months, that's around 3,600 Emiras produced.
Now Let's just say...
I agree, stories like this are truly worrisome but I do have to wonder how representative they are of the total percentage of owners out there since it's well known that happy buyers generally do not take the time to report their experiences nearly as much as those who are disappointed or...
I think what @Porter is saying is that buying a real estate property (even a primary residence) is arguably a valid investment if it appreciates in value over time (which they tend to do, especially as of late). The fact that OTHER houses are also appreciating doesn't eliminate the added value...
I really like the Atlantis -- so much more depth than Seneca IMO and I might have gone with it over the Nimbus but unfortunately that ship has sailed. Look forward to seeing some photos of a finished car in that color, though!
@shaank just FYI your instagram links have a typo in them and throw TLS warnings since the TLS certificate is issued to facebook.com before the redirect happens to instagram.com ;)
Good to know and thanks for the clarifications. I'm not familiar with the UK-based costs but that makes sense. Stiil, a roughly 5% loss on reselling a new car is minimal in normal terms. I don't see any reason for the panicky sentiment.
The idea of buying a new car and flipping it for...
