Thank you, you taught me something and gave me an idea. I'm stymied at having lost my music collection after Apple did away with itunes and I am having a bear of time migrating it to the new "music" app. Now I can get things at least off a stick and in the car.

You sure it's the dash? My V6 does something similar and it's the steering wheel that I'm hanging on to and 'wringing the life out of it' :) sit in the car, grab the wheel and do a bit of gentle pushing/pulling and see

Boom or a Pop? I have a random pop (like a speaker pop) in the car which I can't chase down. My passenger one does an audible click the first time it is opened after sitting. I was told it has to do with the roller that rolls the window down and it will get better with time. I kind of agree...

I am really amused by history repeating itself here. I bought (and still have) of the first '05 Elises to be imported. It wasn't much after that where lotus went from Lotus/GM to some venture capital group in Luxemborg and (maybe later to Proton, I lost count) to bankrupt, to somebody else etc...

A really good benchmark is to watch what happened to Elise/Evora through their run. They did the exact same things. I have an 05 Elise since new and I did not 'upgrade' by trading during the life run of Elise/Exige. But in the elise case, the two oil coolers the '05 came with is a priceless for...

Freight shipping is not that expensive. I got mine shipped in a reasonable price/time.

Pass for me as well. I have an 'original' Elise, first batch they sent to the US and have never felt the need to change for the next and the next. NOT making that change let me save up and be ready for the Emira when it got here. Instead of dropping more $ into the new version. Still love...

Your logic make perfect sense and I second the test drive (an extended one if you can) to get a sense of these cars. They are quite fun, find a local Lotus group and go hand out at their cars and coffee and see a few colors. Post your M3 here when you sell it. :D

Do you have PPF? My PPF guy specifically said hand wash only as the carwash jets can damage PPF (peel the edges back.)

My volvo has this and I am sick and tired of it slamming on the brakes when pulling out of garage because it sensed the flower bushes in the wind. It is not subtle either, it's a hard stop application of brakes.

Exactly the same concern with the Elise and the last few times Lotus nearly went broke :). There are aftermarket clams and there are places that make engine/electrical bits. A large part of worry is being too far from a dealer, dealers that have other very expensive halo brands...
