Your logic make perfect sense and I second the test drive (an extended one if you can) to get a sense of these cars. They are quite fun, find a local Lotus group and go hand out at their cars and coffee and see a few colors. Post your M3 here when you sell it. :D

Do you have PPF? My PPF guy specifically said hand wash only as the carwash jets can damage PPF (peel the edges back.)

My volvo has this and I am sick and tired of it slamming on the brakes when pulling out of garage because it sensed the flower bushes in the wind. It is not subtle either, it's a hard stop application of brakes.

Exactly the same concern with the Elise and the last few times Lotus nearly went broke :). There are aftermarket clams and there are places that make engine/electrical bits. A large part of worry is being too far from a dealer, dealers that have other very expensive halo brands...

That's absurd I just paid $250ish at Lotus Denver, software update was no charge, they had car two days.

Curious, has anybody felt the need to decline the updates out of concern impacting a car that is behaving just fine?
