Thinking of Selling Macan GTS and Mint e46 M3 for Emira

We have an Emira V6M, Macan, and 4Runner. LOL I too work from home so the wife's Macan is our daily, the Emira is just a toy for fun, and the 4Runner is the crap hauler, like Christmas trees, plants, large items you buy from stores, etc. and it holds more than the Macan and honestly I could careless if it takes a hit here and there on the interior.

Don’t sell Macan GTS. This is the 3.0 single turbo one right? That one is awesome. Just get rid of M3 and Chevy for Emira :)

I recently lost weight myself. About 35 lbs in 2 months. Exercise and not eating. Ozempic not needed! It sucked for a bit but it works!

2022 and on GTS gets the turbo engine. 2.9 liter twin turbo. I don’t have a Chevy to sell.

Good morning Greg,
Welcome to the gang (and the asylum of Lotus.)

I would go out of my way to keep the M3 or make sure you have right of refusal to buy it back when the next owner wants to sell! Much as I suspect you know it is becoming a special car.

The Emira is a good car and it will be close to the M3 in character. Would you be able to co own both of them for an overlapping period of time. Long enough for the newness of Emira to wear off and see if you'd "miss" the M3?

I have an Elise and I would not give it up to keep the Emira.

Hey all, I appreciate ALL of the comments, thank you!

One thing that I probably was not clear on is, I am not comparing the M3 to the Emira. I decided 1-2 years ago to sell the car because I am not using it enough. It's just been sitting in my garage. I have owned e46M's for over 20 years and just ready to move on, that's all. My 911 always scratches that itch of wanting a raw driving experience.

Not exactly sure the biggest reason I want the Emira. I guess it's a few things; it's beautiful, I like where the engine sits, and it's available in a MT. I always say I am going to get into tracking my cars and I just never do... Maybe some day, but I feel like I am kidding myself if I say I am going to track the car. It would be a nice day/weekend car. The value of factory widebody 964's has been insane so it will also give me 2 cars to split up the weekend duty.

I guess my bottom line is, I am not looking for the same experience as what I have. I don't need this car to be as raw as an Elise as my 964 is super-engaging. A cruiser that is "capable" for spiriting driving, while being beautiful is what I am looking for.

I would say ignore everything discussed here and simply just go and have a test drive - you will know within 2 minutes if you need one.

Try to drive both the V6 and the i4 - even if you think you need the manual the i4 is very good (for context I still got the V6 but the choice between the two was a lot closer than I expected).
