Your logic make perfect sense and I second the test drive (an extended one if you can) to get a sense of these cars. They are quite fun, find a local Lotus group and go hand out at their cars and coffee and see a few colors. Post your M3 here when you sell it. :D

That's absurd I just paid $250ish at Lotus Denver, software update was no charge, they had car two days.

Curious, has anybody felt the need to decline the updates out of concern impacting a car that is behaving just fine?

I too have this exact issue and appreciate community input. Mine was way off at delivery but I flew and drove home so had no choice by to drive away. Had the local gang at BOE align the car and replace alcantara steering with GRP as well. Much better but it is just a little R of center...

Mine went away and has not come back. I still suspect it's a seat belt issue that gets in the way of engaging the cruise.
