Typically how long from arrival at port to dealer? Mine arrived 5/13!! Thank you nova for the info

There has been no rhyme or reason. Some have gone from hitting port to their dealers in a few weeks, and some a few months. I don’t think there has been any sort of “average” time between port and dealer.

My wife’s Emira was also on the 5/13 boat. Her dealer rep informed her a week later on 5/20 that it hit Baltimore… we told him we already knew that a week before thanks to Nova and this forum

1. Arrived into Baltimore on the Atlantic Sun on 5/13.
2. Dealer let me know today it's on a transport to So Cal, and should be delivered by this weekend, 5/31, or 6/1. Whoo hoo!

I've arranged to pick it up next Wednesday 6/5. I'm counting myself as one of the very lucky ones, given this was the first shipment of Emiras allowed into Baltimore since the bridge collapse (saving me and others the transfer from Newark), and given the quick turnaround in inspection and finding its way onto a transport.

That's awesome! Mine arrived at Baltimore on 5/13 as well. Was hoping I'd be able to pick it up for my birthday tomorrow but it still hasn't gotten to the dealer yet .

On a slightly different subject, and considering my delivery is imminent, I was curious about how others have handled the cash delivery aspect, whether for a down payment or full payment. Wondering if I should wire the money ahead of time or arrive with a cashier's check. I will not have had a chance to see the car until I arrive, as I'm currently out of town, and want to pick up the car the same day I arrive, so I can quickly deliver it to the PPF shop. Having some trepidations about wiring the money ahead of time (essentially paying for something I haven't seen) and other trepidations about carrying around a large cashier's check (basically cash). Any thoughts from those more experienced in this regard?

Isn't a cashier's cheque only payable to the payee written on the front? Ergo, much safer than walking around with cash, which is "payable" to anyone who steals it.

I would do cashiers check. It’s payable only to the dealer. On the off chance the car is not ready or something is wrong with it I would not buy sight unseen. Once you pay you lose leverage.

At least PDI caught it. NJ dealer had quite a few arrive with failed AC and PS issues. Keep us updated..

Yep, best way to go. Fast and easy. I paid in full in with a cashier's check and my bank even said that if anything happened to it (lost, stolen, damaged, etc.), they would take care of everything.

The same thing happened to my car. I don't understand how the steering pump could be failing at this rate on new cars. I really doubt that there was some manufacturing defect on the pump itself, so I'm assuming it's more likely an assembly time error that damages the pump beyond repair. It's easy enough of a swap, however. The pump is easy to access under the engine once the rear under tray is removed. Hope they find a pump soon to get you on your way.

I don't think PDI caught it... I don't know what the PDI folks do but I don't think they fix the cars. Until the cars get loaded on a transport, the dealers don't really know anything. Sometimes they don't even know that a shipment is coming until it just shows up. I am thinking this problem was caught by the dealer.

Picking it up tomorrow! Then afterwards it's straight to the PPF shop, using only 50 km/h roads. Haha. Also, gonna meet another local forum member who's picking up his car at the same time that I'm dropping mine off!

At least they discovered and are fixing it before the car got delivered to you.
