I only buy sport cars that I am excited about. I would not buy one that I am ambivalent about, but I am really enjoying my Emira!!!I will be accepting delivery in 3-4 weeks. Finally, after a year and a half of waiting, I will be getting my Emira. But instead of being totally ecstatic, I feel ambivalent. With the uncertainty of Lotus' future, should I still go ahead and buy one?
Was yours held up overseas due to tariffs? If so I’m in the same situation. My dealer hasn’t really provided any timeline. They had me confirm intent to purchase a month ago, also gave me a VIN but no updates since.I will be accepting delivery in 3-4 weeks. Yes. I’ve just been for a drive, there is nothing else like itI will be accepting delivery in 3-4 weeks. Finally, after a year and a half of waiting, I will be getting my Emira. I think a lot of this comes down to expectations and priorities. If you want stability and certainty, clearly this is not the way. I’m just being real.I will be accepting delivery in 3-4 weeks. Agreed, he's "got to play to win", but it's more like he doesn't want to date because he may end up getting married and life will suck for the rest of his life. You gotta play to win, man. Thats like you saying you don’t want to date someone bc you may break up and life will suck for a little
Yes, my car was held up by the tariff. Was yours held up overseas due to tariffs? If so I’m in the same situation. My dealer hasn’t really provided any timeline. They had me confirm intent to purchase a month ago, also gave me a VIN but no updates since.
You guys are funny. That's why I come here a lot. I'm not afraid to ask questions because I know folks here have the same interest and passion and support each other.Agreed, he's "got to play to win", but it's more like he doesn't want to date because he may end up getting married and life will suck for the rest of his life.
Nice! What dealer did you order through?Yes, my car was held up by the tariff.
I got a call from my dealer last week saying my car is on the boat heading for the states and will take 3-4 weeks to get to the port and 1-2 weeks to transport to their shop.
Kids are gone. Finances are in order. It's my turn now to prioritize myself.Lotus has been uncertain about it's future for many years, and owned by different companies along the way. I have no doubt that Lotus will continue on, even if under a new owner.
I've owned and driven many different sports car marques. Lotus remains, IMO, the best driving experience. The Emira is my 5th Lotus and I keep coming back to them - and it sure isn't because I think they are a rock solid company.
Make your choice based on your priorities
Same lol. Wife said just get it. As long as it doesn’t affect our savings, girls 529’s. I’ve got an EVO X and a C63s. The Emira will be my third car. I always grow attached to my vehicles, they all offer something different. I’ve got 2 girls and each will be able to drive one of my other cars once they’re old enough. My wife actually got tired of hearing about Lotus for 25 years and told me to go get it. She is right life is short and you have to balance financial maturity against enjoying life. The Lotus news are certainly concerning but I expect to keep the Emira forever or pass it to one of my boys so I don’t worry about resale value.
