Rock Star! New tires yet? Brakes?
So 1,000 miles in on the Hawks, are your impressions the same as the masses before you (other than dusting)? And where did you get them installed if I may ask?Tires at 23k (OEM Goodyears) and swapped out the OEM brake pads for the Hawk ceramics at the same time even though there was still life in the stock pads. The Hawk pads seem to dust less though harder to tell since I also switched to new brake dust colored wheels. I go through half the towels I used to and only need to wipe them down once a week rather than 2-3 times a week with the silver wheels.View attachment 78610
Less grabby for sure. Less dusty. Otherwise no real difference from OEM as far as linear braking performance on the street. The pads are not marketed as a track pad. I don’t track my car in any case. Eurocar/Lotus of OC installed them at my insistence. The tech said he liked them better than the stock pads after he test drove my car.So 1,000 miles in on the Hawks, are your impressions the same as the masses before you (other than dusting)? Yes, they were able to undercut Tirerack's pricing by $150 or so...Ah, so “insistence” is what it took!Glad you’ve set the precedence and softened them up for me! I’m only at 5k miles so will probably be awhile for me to swap pads though unless some other reason crops up for me to bring it in.
Did you have Eurocar do your tires as well?
