Where has the cover gone?!

Just got back from an oil change and it’s gone as well too. Can’t find it. Even the under tray was removed. Who knows what happened to it haha. Looking to source a new one… anyone know where I can buy one?

Yep. See part number here. You can give that part number to your dealer and they’ll order it for like $40. Or just order it from bell & covill in the UK.

Mine actually broke twice I absolutely hate that design. Once you un clip it it’s impossible to clip back on without breaking the little lip. I just gave up and just zip tie the thing

Mine came off as well. It’s down there and I had to stand in the boot and reach down to grab it. It gets wedged in there pretty good. Make sure to latch it tight when you put it back in. The plastic tab is stiff and you really have to force it to click

Thanks for the information! Now that a removed my rear windsheild to intall the JUBU louvre I would have lost that cover for sure tracking.
I will let you know if we come up with somethong different

The mechanic couldn’t find it, so who knows just ordered another one, probably I’ll put it on when I sell the car

So interestingly enough in my stuff included with the car is a clear zip tie in a bag. Anyone know what that is for. I'm thinking it may be to attach this panel.

Update - I borrowed a scope from a friend and was able to see where it was. I was able to reach it and get it out. I noticed when putting it back on that it takes a bit of effort to insure it is snapped tight into place. I'm assuming that the last time I checked the oil I may have not put it back on tightly or it jarred loose hitting a bump. When put on correctly it does seem secure. I still think it is a poor design and there should be some sort of safeguard to prevent it from falling. Not sure I want to go the zip tie route like someone else did.



I just noticed mine has fallen in too. I do not see it and am assuming it has slid back out of view. Car is going in for maintenance soon. Hoping it doesn't melt before then.

I've identified mine as one of the rattles in my car. It's just out until I can make a plan for how to prevent it from rattling, while not preventing it from snapping in securely.

I broke the clip that latches the cover in place. Not a very good design when it relies on a thin plastic area to bend (without breaking). I put a zip tie to hold it in place, but since you can see that through the engine glass, I didn't like that solution. I came up with a bunch of complicated ways to fix it, then came up with a simple way. Epoxy a small round magnet to the underside of the removable panel, and also the underside of the main piece. The small rare earth magnets are strong enough to work though the plastic on the main piece, so nothing shows.



If you are going to do this, put the magnet on the hatch cover first and let the epoxy set. Then tape the cover in place and put the other magnet on. You'll see that the 2nd magnet will align with the first one by the attractive force. The magnetic attraction is enough to hold the cover in place, and it sort of also self-aligns.

Maybe this is a dumb question but could a rare earth magnet, which is quite strong, mess with any of the cars electronics?
