Anyone with experience with installing this spoiler and reinforcing the mount points?
If so, will you please post pics, if you have them.

Vorsteiner Product

Correct me if I am wrong (I have not tested with a magnet) but my understanding is the body panels on the Emira are composite materials. This means drilling a hole is typically a no-no. All drilled fiberglass inevitably cracks over time. There are ways to mitigate and also prevent it.

For me to install a spoiler like this and drill into the bumper, I would want access to the underside to be able to first reinforce with 3 additional layer of 6oz fabric and epoxy resin. Then put a beveled edge on a 2-3" washer (depending on what fits) sandwiched with another 5 layers of 6oz fabric. This will add more reinforcement for the mounting points. It appears they intentionally created these "hooks" to help offset some of the stress on the top of the hatch, which is good. I would still want to reinforce it though.

Their artificial interface (intentionally avoid the "intelligence" label here) states that is uses the OEM mounts. What OEM spoiler mounts?

Ask them for installation instructions. I’d be surprised if it was anything more than 3m double sided sticky tape and bolts/nuts. It’ll need drilled holes.

It’s not as if this thing really does much, it’s vorsteiner, so aesthetic pieces only.

Am I expecting too much that aero pieces would have fluid dynamics simulation?

I do like the looks of it though. I am pretty sure it has some bolts underneath. I am curious if anyone reinforced the underside of the hatch (if you can even access it without cutting. If the bolts are designed to go all the way through and protrude the underside, then I am definitely not interested.

Installing this properly seems like a project.

It’s vorsteiner lol, yes you’re expecting too much 🤣 it probably creates a bunch more drag and creates lift.

@kitkat
I spoke with Vorsteiner. They stated they did fluid dynamic simulations on the parts.
Combined with the rear diffuser is +23% down force. Spoiler alone is ~10%.

They did also send a pic of the mounting

You gonna do it then?
Pondering...

It is more likely than not likely. They do not include a template and recommend professional installation for drilling four holes and using a torque wrench ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Love it!
I like the Hethelsport.
I am not spending $3k+ on a spoiler.

Does the Hethelsport mount in a similar manner to the pic I posted above?

Greg, you and I chat often on email. Let me move forward with all the mods I have now and I will likely add the spoiler around the same time I order the carbon diffuser from you (and the black tranny mounts, if I can ever find those yellow ones!)

I think @BLUEMIRA has the Vorsteiner wing. Maybe he can give you some insight on the installation and how it live up with time?
In the future I plan on going with the CTCarbon fiber kit, but since I dislike the CTwing, I would go for Vorsteiner styling.

Though I did see the GRP alternative and still on the fence between both. Might need to see them in real life to help me chose.
