Hi all,
Given the fact that the new 'Vivid Red' color is now available for the EMIRA, I think it's useful to have a comparison between Vivid Red and Magma Red colors.
Please post here any pictures/opinions/etc.

For the moment, from the online configurator, not sure which one I like more.
Need to see them in real life (preferably side by side) to form an opinion.

I think this one is simple: if you want a bright Ferrari like red you go with vivid and you accept that you’ll be getting a plain solid red with no metallic flake or anything. If you want something metallic and deeper red you get the magma red.

Correct, Vivid Red is a solid colour.

It should have the same appearance dynamics as Hethel Yellow; bright, but still a very nice color. It will keep its color tones more consistently under changing light conditions compared to a metallic paint.

As per our discussions months ago, I think the configurator is questionable in how it represents colours. That vivid red looks quite orange…?

If a flat Rosso Corsa had been available as an FE colour I would have snapped it up. And grown a moustache and hired a butler called Higgins.

Agree with first statement. Every image will look different on the screen it is viewed on.
Ideally, we'd have discs to compare, in person.
Is anyone aware of when Dealer's will have paint samples?

Don't think I could stand all the "wow, a Ferrari" or "wanker in a Ferrari" comments you'd get with Vivid.

I wish those color sample discs had even been accurate to begin with. I held one up against the paint of a demo car and they didn’t even come close to matching.

Looks like Ardent Red to me. Nice color, but I'm wanting a metallic this time.

I've seen both. There was a vivid red back on the factory floor a year ago when I visited.

Magma is cherry red. Well documented

Vivid red is very bright as the name implies, and is one of those colors that seems to have some highlighter glow mixed into the paint formula. No matter where I was in the factory, that vivid red was shouting at me out of the corner of my eye. It seems like a flatter color, but radioactive. My guess is cameras will not capture it properly, a little like how Seneca just seems deeply saturated to the eye in person, which cameras can't really capture.

I wonder if vivid red will resemble Aston Martin's "scorpus red"? It's a very bright neon red, leaning into orange territory. It's a great color, albeit very new-age. Seems fairly flat with little if any metallic. I saw a vantage on the road the other day in this color. After all, Geely could be facilitating some cross-pollination paint development for little old cash-strapped Lotus.

On my Dell monitor, the vivid red does look as if it has orange in it, but when I slide over the images to my ASUS monitor, there is less orange and a red that is closer to Ferrari red. I guess the color settings need to be calibrated so that I know which shade is correct.

Agree, they were hopeless, especially considering that they only had six colours to demo. Meanwhile, other luxury brands are doing things like this . . .

Magma Red all the way, the colour is deep and not too “look at me I’m a Ferrari!”.

My car gets ridiculous amounts of attention and I’d much rather have the metallic finish any day.

Yeah, I agree... looks much more elegant and special like this.
And it's not trying to 'emulate' a Ferrari. : )

But I'm still curious to see the vivid red in real world (Ideally, perked next to a magma one)
