Anyone know if this is true. I was just told one of the latest updates downgrades the power because it was too high or in his words "too fast". Is there any way people can see the list of software updates and what they do online? I hope this isn't actually true but it was a tech that does the uploads that said this. Mmm

[nterestingly enough even if we go with that the TDI tune essentially adds boost so even if it was a formula looking at the Boost it should have come up with a higher number but right now it just shows 400]

We'll all the data from members is helpful trying to pin down what is happing.
So- when people make Mods that presumably add's power the 'power meter' on some cars remains the same. Therefore MCU must be locked with a default algorithm .

Some cars in the US and China the 'power meter' exceeds 400HP. So far up to 423HP and 460 NM.
Question now; do these cars truly have more power? or is it a software config issue ?
Based on the C&D and Dragtime [0-60] of 3.3 - 3.4 s , suspect these tested cars have more then 400HP, maybe I'll reach out Brooks at Dragtimes to see if observed max HP on display.

Horse power is the same but they change the throttle map to be less aggressive. It also takes away the AMG Emotion Start-up.

Source? Which dealer and what software? I'm taking my i4 in on Monday and I'll look into this.

I think this update is intended to address some of the strange shift behavior in sport and track mode. I have experienced some rough/jerky shift in sport mode and the DCT will sometimes stay in gear pretty much close to redline even while not under full throttle. So it's sounds more like making shifts smoother and not about making the car less powerful.

But that update also speeds up from reverse to forward, which is quite important if you drive mostly in cities.
Tbh I'm fine with the reverse and forward shifts, waiting one extra second for it to calibrate doesn't kill me lol. Plus I hardly if ever do 3 point turns in the city.

I've notice that too, but all I do to fix that is upshift. I've been driving track mode in LA for the past month lol

I'm probably a bit older so I would rather have a smoother shift when I'm just running around Silicon Valley in traffic. I usually stay in sport mode just for the quicker throttle response but I don't really push the car till I'm out of the city.

The software update for r n 1 is absolutely night and day. I no longer need to look down at it. I'm driving post software updates and there's no change by the seat of my pants in powertrain performance.
