Unlocked car, switched off, phone connects?

I tend to leave the car unlocked in my garage, tethered to trickle charge. If I’m in the garage listening to a podcast or talking on the phone, and stand within a few metres of the car, the dash lights up, CarPlay activates and the call is diverted to the car. Doesn’t happen if the car is locked.
Anyone else experience this?

Yep, if the car is unlocked Carplay/Android Auto is active, as are the wireless connections associated with it.
Any reason you keep the car unlocked? Previous discussions on this seemed to imply it was best to have it locked.

Always happens to me when I’m washing and detailing. I connect my phone to a Bluetooth speaker and when I open the door to do the jambs, it transfers to the car. Very annoying.

Good to know it’s not just me. I thought everything should shut down when off. Seems entirely odd that connectivity remains live in OFF status.

Same here... but locking the car stops it from happening and that's what I have been doing now..
