Time to buy

You mean someone who's been lucky?
Simon. I’m sorry that you had a hard time with your car. But that’s the case for at least 20 other owner I personally know here down under. I guess I’d trash the shit out of the brand and try put anyone off buying one if I’ve experience the same. So I do get it.

I don’t want to trash the brand. Just sold my car earlier this week. I miss it already. 3k for me. No issues. My doors were fine but I suspect that’s because it’s lived a garaged
Life and seen no rain.
It was fear of the brand falling over and the warranty expiring at the end of this year that prompted something of an unwanted sale. Car went to the trade and the dealer was keen to buy it.
I’m more than disappointed Lotus couldn’t offer me an extended warranty like Porsche do. It would be revenue for their dealers. Bell and Colvill are local but they are very busy. I note they have stopped selling new Lotus cars which is disturbing in and of itself.
Assuming the brand can demonstrate that it’s not going anywhere I will buy another Emira. Wonderful cars.

That said- the price proximity to a new 911 makes them a tough sell new. At £60k you are buying a 911 a decade old as opposed to a 2 year old Emira

Bell & Colvill stopped out of protest at the direct sales Lotus iniated. They have also set up a warranty via a 3rd party, not as good as the equivalent Porsche one by any means but.... Lotus will be offering a warranty via Car Care Plan soon.

Interesting but none of these 3rd party companies seem to offer anything like the bumper to bumper Porsche warranty. I want to know that paint issue is covered all the while I own the car as well. They full well know there is an issue and should be offering a recall.
