I’ve noticed allot of cars have only 3k miles and two owners is that because the car is a nightmare ? I’ve not seen it before.
Also £59k 2023 6k miles second hand now much more to drop could happen on the v6 manual ?
Is there a place I can buy more directly from enthusiasts and save some more money ?

They are north of £100k now for a new one. How much would you expect to pay for. Cayman GTS, similar miles and year? I’d guess a solid £10k more. At £59k with warranty it’s a cheap car. What’s far more concerning is the future of the brand.

Hello John, the future of the brand concerns is this more about the ability to get parts etc for the car as it get older, ? and also if the band collapses the prices may go up as older exeiges are super expensive now

"only 3k miles and two owners"

First owner could have been the dealer pre-registering the car.
Second owner only doing 3,000 miles is the mystery, they must have other cars, Emiras are for driving!

Sad fact is Lotus continue to make enormous losses. We saw leaked and denied reports that the factory was going to be closed. The existing boss, who had a long history with the brand, has been sacked. Tariffs hurt the sale of cars in their biggest market and the two ev models aren’t well reviewed and are sales failures.
There has been substantial investment in Hethel but they make one car. The build quality they achieve seems inconsistent. New cars requiring replacement of the entire AC system, steering racks and the ongoing paint issues significantly dented confidence in the car.
Now they’ve raised prices to new 911 levels. If Geely pull the plug I don’t see a future for the brand. When TVR folded the it did nothing for the value of existing cars either. Quite the contrary in fact.
I hope I’m wrong but I could see closure announced before years end.

Regarding Exiges, yes they appear to command high prices. But watch how long many of them take to sell. A far more niche car than the Emira as well.

Assuming you are from the UK then a lot of the cars are ex-Lotus cars that had a few miles on them before being sold to the public.
The dealer should have this information for you.

Emira prices have risen by around £5K since the start of the year. There were a several cars at 55K with <3K miles on them then. Now you're starting at £59K

I doubt it - but try Autotrader for private sales or Pistonheads.

If you are buying the car as an investment that will hold its value then you may better off with something else. such as an older model Ferrari.

A nightmare? The car is the buggiest cars I ever had. But I am learning a lot from it. Did you try one? If you did, then you know why you’re after it. The car is a blast, but you need to embrace the Lotus “experience” as a whole. Also, don’t cheap out too much on it, if the price was too low, I wouldn’t trust the seller.

Not a mystery if your car has spent 7 months out of 15 undriveable.

Prices have slowly gone up in the last year for used Emiras. There were 87 on Autotrader last May, all 3.5l manuals. Speculators getting burnt. Fewer than 20 with less than 5,000 miles currently on sale, 3/4 of those are Lotus buy backs at Auto100.co.uk.

Why do you expect to get it cheaper from an 'enthusiast'? Auto100.co.uk are selling cheap returned cars from Lotus, horror stories about them on here. Those of us who have suffered the problems and not been able to use their cars will expect slightly higher prices because the next owner won't have the problems we went through. Can you say the same for cars currently on sale?

That some dealers are actually mentioning having doors replaced shows they understand it's a selling point. Mine is going up for sale this next week, I've offered it to a couple of specialist dealers and I'm waiting for them to get back to me. One has sold 2 Emiras in the last month within a week, both up for £66,500 and '23 reg with under 5k miles.

There are some cheap Emiras for sale but have they had any of the issues sorted, if not expect them in your ownership.
