A friend got 3.5 MT Emira 2 days ago. This is what happened when he ripped the protective film off the speaker.

What's it supposed to look like

Oh, wow, that's embarrassing. Silk screening on aluminum is a pretty standard process. We still do the old "tape lift" test but I can't recall when we have ever failed that one.

Also, I would have also expected it to be laser etched. Silk screen printing for the logo here is a bit of a head scratcher.

Don't worry, will be covered under warranty especially since there is photo proof that its NOT a wear issue. Should keep the plastic as further proof.

Lotus will replace that grill under warranty......two years from now when they finally get a spare from the supplier......

On second thought......according to the early reviews from new owners, this KEF system has not really received any rave reviews.......so you might be better off by just removing the remains of the KEF emblem with some nail polish remover anyway.

Hey, if your customer were calling you every day, asking why his car is not ready, you'd probably forget one or more of the prepping tasks, too! :sneaky:

This is how they solved the issue, putting a piece of paper between the plastic and the writing!!!

Unfortunately tho, while the writing is all there.....the speaker is not working...
