Yeah, this was already posted on some other forums. The article is basically click bait and a misunderstanding of the Geely put option.

"That's basically financial jargon for Geely is forcing Lotus to buy back the 51% stake it has in Lotus Advanced Technologies. Once the transaction is complete, all Lotus operations will operate under the Lotus UK banner, making the brand as British as a cup of tea again."

As far as anyone can tell this is complete nonsense. Geely is "selling" Lotus Advanced Technologies to "Lotus UK" - both firms Geely has 51% shares in. Basically is just merging these companies into a single company to simplify things.

I don’t disagree, but if Lotus is to stay in business, they need to sell cars. The SUV and sedan offerings have not been well received and the Emira isn’t being sold in the USA anymore. Anyway you look at it this is not a sustainable business environment.
