I got a call from my SA informing me that lotus has resumed shipping of cars to the US and I should get my car soon.
Yay.
Anyone else got a call from the dealer?

This is exactly what I was told and it looks like your price also went up 7k so at least that’s consistent. I went ahead and confirmed intent to purchase. I’ve been waiting for this thing since announced and waited to place a deposit until shipping started early last year. I’m getting mine from Eurocar, what dealer are you working with?My dealer called me Tuesday afternoon as well.
- Car is produced (gave me VIN)
- Lotus is asking dealers to immediately confirm with each customer whether they intend to complete the purchase. If yes, the car will be on the boat by end of the week. If no, the car will be reallocated to another dealership that they deem most appropriate (waiting list, demand, etc)
- MSRP went from $105,xxx to $112,xxx
- Dealer needs to know in next 24-48 hours.

Well, that was unexpected and abrupt. Dealer was considerate in that they offered a simple refund if walking away is chosen option.
I'll need some time to ponder the abrupt timing and determine if my bank can confirm the financing underwriting in that time period. On principle alone, I am averse to paying the increased MSRP and that likely is a deal breaker for me if they aren't able to honor the original order sheet. I may research to see if there is any obligation for the original MSRP to be honored based on state law or the order documents. I doubt it, but it's a valid question to consider.

I'd be interested to hear if any dealers are honoring the original order price or other details from anyone else in the same boat?
The Lotus US website has been updated with the new MSRP.Details from the good folks at Gator:
We've finally gotten clarification on how Lotus Cars Americas is managing U.S. import tariffs and have some updates about the upcoming Emira models.
Lotus has stated that vehicles imported from the U.K. are subject to a newly increased 10% tariff upon entering the United States. As a result, they have determined that a price adjustment is necessary for all incoming Emira models and have raised the starting MSRP for the 2025 Emira V6 from $99,900 to $106,900. However, to help offset some of the price difference, Lotus clarified that there will be no price change for selected premium options or upgrades. Additionally, select paints (Osmium Silver, Hethel Yellow, and Zinc Grey), sports pedals, and premium Lotus-branded floormats are now no charge. These price changes add between $6,000 and $7,000 per order that has already been submitted and is waiting for delivery.
Some model year 2025 Emira have already been built and are scheduled to be transported to the United States over the next few weeks! Lotus has canceled pending orders that haven't been produced yet, and these orders will need to be resubmitted next month as new orders for the 2026 Emira model once the order books reopen. I will follow up on this message by contacting each of you individually to give you an update on your order status and to confirm whether you'd like to proceed or cancel. If you decide to cancel, then we will refund your order deposit, as we were unfortunately unable to deliver your vehicle as intended.
We also have several new Emira, in both drivetrain options, available for immediate delivery at our dealership now. If you would prefer, we can cancel your current order and apply your deposit to the purchase of one of our in-stock vehicles. More details and pictures of what we have available can be found on our website linked here: https://www.indylotus.com/inventory/new/
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this situation and delay may have caused, as we understand that this outcome is very different from what we expected when you submitted your order months ago. Our team will do everything we can to get your order to you as fast as possible and to meet your expectations. If there's anything else we can do to make your purchasing experience great, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you with your new Lotus sports car.
