Nope, not allowed anymore in the EU to control your flaps manually. They are now controlled automatically by the car and open at certain RPM/throttle input depending on the drive mode as well. TomE explained the behavior of the valves in his writing about the different drive modes.

Anyways I guess there will be an easy mod to make them manually controllable.

I would think adding a button to manually control them will be relatively simple. It's nice that it comes from the factory with it built-in, instead of having to add your own flaps.

Komotec do a remote control one for the earlier Evoras, so perhaps will offer one for the Emira

Or, just unplug the vacuum line and leave the valves open all the time. That's what I would do…

In the US 2021 cars still have the fun button. Not sure it’s outlawed here…

It’s nice to have. Silences it a bit for the drive down my street here.
