No A/C in UK heatwave

approx 240 for the condensor and the cost to fit by an independent was approx 400 cash

I've got the same issue... noticed it after the first UK heatwave. I'm out of warranty now, and i've looked at the T&C's of the extended warranties and they say AC components aren't covered!?

I've had a look at the radiator through the front grill... there seems to be a big one in the centre, and a small one off to the left (as you look at the car). Which one is the AC condenser? The big one in the centre appears to be damp towards the bottom few rows, but it looks intact - no sign of any road rash. I had a service a couple of weeks earlier so i was wondering if it was just damp from a coolant change?

its the one pointing down on a diagonal fitting. when you look behind the number plate thats the boyo!

How are the AC components not covered? I get why the gas is not, thats seen as a consumable, but the mechanical aspects of the system surely are just the same as any other mechanical part on the car.

your main issue is that you are now out of warranty and this was my issue. i got no support from dealer or Lotus CC. seriously do not waste any more time on this. if you have a condensor issue, buy a replacement and get it installed. the longer your a/c issue lingers the other potential issues you may face. i have mine fixed and moved on from this issue and got onto the next one ... lamda senor issues :(

Agreed... i need to find an AC specialist that can confirm the diagnosis and then go from there.
