Nimbus Grey Lotus Emira Photo Thread

@harleyujoe I feel like I know this covered bridge. Was this in PA? What bridge?
It is in Bucks County and the bridge is 3 miles from the grass field airport called Van Sant with
bi planes and gliders...that is the other picture of air port..this is one of my favorite rides
5 times a year what ever I own or drive..

yes I knew I remembered it. I actually took my Emira to the wings and wheels last year at Van Sant airport with @Brian. It was a good time and the ride up was fun. There was an evora there as well. We followed him out when we left but didn’t get to meet him.

So you are not that far from Airport ??? Probably about same distance ...I believe round trip for me 110 miles the 4 or 5 times I go there..
but in the 30 or so years you can see it changing and not for the best..But still worth it..

Airport is only about 22 miles from me but 45 minute drive.

My Nimbus on the Dragon last weekend with the Lotus Versus The Dragon rally. Tons of pics from the drive, but I like this one because it's a rare view of the back which I think is one of the prettiest angles of the Emira.

After 12 months with my Emira, time with her is coming to an end. What could be Emira's final weekend driving trip with friends to the lake, seemed like a nice send off... Making room for a Raging Bull replacement

Always wanted one of those Silver/Red RX-7s! Would have settled for silver/black even... :p

I wish I could say they were great cars...but really sucked with reliability. This was my red one and the silver frame was one my buddy bought for 400 dollars and we built for him. Actually got it built up and running if you can believe that. Car was just the frame with everything stripped. My red was twin turbo while the silver one was single turbo and done up all fast and furious style.

I do remember hearing about the heat from the turbo(s) doing a number on wiring/hoses/seals making reliability an issue. Still, I dug the look and that gauge cluster with the big tach dead center was pure art.

FD RX7, not a 911, Ferrari or Lambo was my dream car growing up. I have read so many stories of maintenance troubles though. From gasket seals on stock cars to everything else on modded cars. So many things about the car are right though.

I've owned 3 rx7s, from 105 hp to 550 hp. Imo the best looking cars to come from Japan. 3 moving parts in the engine...simple, but disastrous design. I used to have a mobile business pulling and rebuilding rotary engines for customers. I got out of the rotary game after I purchased 3 motors and they were all beyond useless. Sold every piece of rotary trash I had.

A customer bought one from Japan, and when I pulled it apart it had like buildup of branch or flower stuff inside....tsunami motor....housings were trashed and rotors were rusted. Needless to say no more work was done on that motor.
