Hey everyone. I wanted to share some feedback on upgrades listed on this forum that I selected to perform, on my Emira.
Background on me
Daily driver is a model s plaid and gmc Denali 1500
I have owned a lotus Elise and was first in country to install a rotrex. I had 345hwhp at under 2000lb of weight. Did my own pidyback and tune myself. Ran for 15k. No issues and sold car.
Found the Emira to beautiful and love how simple the lotus product has been. Not to mention honestly price vs performance and look is very reasonable. Also maintenance is extremely reasonable.
Purchased my 2025 Emira V6 manual and took it home August 4th. I had several modification done prior to pick up after a bunch of research. I understand what a lotus is and is not. For anyone that hasn’t owned one and stumbles on this post understand this fact. The lotus does go 0-60 in 2.0 seconds, but I have my daily driver to have that feeling. The car doesn’t have a great stereo and you’re lucky to have cup holders. The car is made for drivers not someone showing off what they have. You will only appreciate the car if you want raw feeling.
My selections
1. Valvetronic exhaust - sound is beautiful. I have heard a few titanium exhaust and this one sounds the way an exotic car should sound like. Some hints. It comes with the third cat delete. No need to purchase additional one. It also ties into the mode selector in the car.
2. Milltek valve controller - this is a must in my opinion. Three. Modes programmed. Mode 1 full open. Sounds is awesome. Mode 2 tied to stock so loud in track and quiet in touring. Mode 3 is very useful as it makes it very quiet. Great for pulling into garage
3. GRP high flow filter
4. JB4 Tuner - activated 93 octane map. This has been a significant improvement. Completely changed the acceleration of the car. I was honestly underwhelmed by the power of the stock Emira. Again I am not expected my model s plaid but still should be better than the stock Emira. I read so much about the JB4 but nothing definitive. I can say if you have hesitation don’t. For those who say don’t blah blah you probably have never tuned a car.
5. Heat wrap exhaust to reduce heat into the boot.
Over all now very happy with my purchase after the upgrades. I hope this helps anyone and enjoy your lotus Emira the way you want to.
