So someone decided to break off both door handles while we were at the staple center. Has anyone had to replace the door handles yet and if so was it easy? …Please say it was easy.

Feel free to @ me here or DM me if you have any questions about the replacement process. It should be fairly straight forward if you have tiny child sized hands :ROFLMAO:

Good news is I got the driver side done. Bad news is they gave me two driver side parts so I’m stuck waiting for the passenger side to finish up. On a side note. The passenger side (right) is a little easier to deal with. There is an extra rod that connects to the driver side (left) that the passenger doesn’t have. US spec. car

Good extra bit of info to know, I haven't changed my passenger side yet since the spring hasn't cracked yet.

It’s back together. Thanks for the advice and help along the way. It’s a fairly simple process for anyone looking to do it. It’s ta definitely not worth paying Lotus $1300 in labor. I have an extra right hand door handle (the full assembly) and an extra outer handle cover (can’t remember LH or RH). If anyone needs one lemme know. The parts are OEM and are over half off of what the dealer charges. I posted a link to their site in the video below.

Super clear video on removal and reinstall, wish I had this when I did mine.

One thing to note for others, if you've landed here because your handle spring broke and not because someone vandalized your car. This video's missing part is how to separate the outer door handle (body color) from the broken inner door handle. You'll need to remove the screw in the back and then you'll need to use a trim tool to wedge between the two halves to get it to unclip -- then you can re-use the outer door handle trim.

Good catch. Got them back on today.
