My emira lets out a high pitched whistle when I lightly press upon the gas pedal. What is this?

My Specs:
Emira V6
Sort of sounds like squeaking brakes (but obviously is not since I’m not braking). It is ONLY when I’m lightly pressing on the gas. It disappears once I press a bit more. It is 100% of the time, does not come and go.

Anyone else hearing this sound at light throttle?

Do you have an aftermarket intake air filter? I think I might be hearing the same whistle coming from the air intake.

Mine does the same. Did it with factory intake and still does it with Eventuri. The solution is to go WOT all the time 🙃

Mine does the same, only while in gear interestingly, not if I rev. Just around 3K rpm. Noticeable with the window open. If anyone knows a remedy, I would be quite keen to know

Not to hijack your thread but I’ve noticed a fog horn like sound/vibration when I engine brake into town or up to a stop. Only lasts about an half second. Anyone else getting this?

Yes! Since factory. No one came up with an explanation yet and I fear it's the clutch.
I have one month left for warranty and I swear to god if the clutch goes next year I'm driving up to Hethel (if someone is left there by then..) 😂

Welcome to the Forum rowenofpts.

No such "squeaking" upon light acceleration, with mine.

But I've had something similar with other vehicles:

-it could still be your brakes, if they're down to the metal "wear bars". You don't need to be braking, to get this warning sound. I'm assuming the Emira brakes work the same way, but stand to be corrected. Check to see if the brakes are worn or not set up properly.
-possibly a wheel bearing. I had a slight noise on a new Mercedes years ago, which was hard to detect but I heard it, mostly on light acceleration when the vehicle interior was otherwise relatively quiet so you could hear it. The 25 year+ shop foreman was able to verify it as 2 worn front bearings, saying it was the second or third time he'd seen this. He explained the vehicle wasn't properly tethered on the boat from Germany, so as the boat rocked with the waves, the car went up/down and always down on the same location on the same front wheel bearings (one each wheel). So it created a wear spot on each bearing, causing them to "squeak" each time the front tires rotated and contact was made with that bearing spot. Replacing the front bearings, solved it.
-did you check your tires, for something caught on the surface which is making road noise? Sometimes you get weird tire road noise.

Some food for thought. Good luck getting rid of that sound.
