More Reports of Emira Hybrid

Apologies if this article has been posted before as it is over a week old but I didn't find it posted here.

Stupid, click bait headline : "Lotus Emira no longer marked for death" and the article is almost devoid of any facts.

They mention a possible AMG V6 engine as an option - this sounds like pure speculation to me. Although we could fantasize about AMG's V6 PU106B engine, the only V6 AMG have in current production as far as I can tell.

I'm not against hybrids or EVs, in fact I have both as daily drivers, but this just feels like the antithesis of Lotus. I'm not sure how adding a V6 that is likely turbocharged, if coming from AMG, plus batteries and electric motors doesn't add 300ish pounds using an E-Ray as approximation.

I'm not in the car business so maybe I'm missing something and there's a large enough market for hybridized sports cars to warrant the engineering budget, but it feels like a bigger leap than the Eletre and Emeya models which I could at least see as subsidizing their sports cars.

With that said, if they figure out how to add in the AMG One's hybrid V6 sign me up :D

I think Geely or maybe just the chairman is the largest single shareholder of Mercedes, hopefully that allows him some pull on getting something in (imho, I prefer if Audi would sell their 5 cylinder engine to Lotus)
