Now owners are starting to carry out modifications I thought it would be good to hear what mods have been declared and the cost of the new insurance. I am planning next year to add some body kit parts but my insurance is due in December so I need to decide if I should sort in advance.

Also, it would be good to know what mods are allowed by standard insurance companies without having to go to a specialist modified insurance provider. Previously I have had aftermarket wheels that were ok as long as they were the same size, were TUV approved, and had the same standard and size of tyre.

I am insured with Henderson Taylor, they just have a list of mods. Never makes a difference to the quote and includes Trackdays.

Hi Martylemoo,
Thanks for the reply. I’ll give them a call as I’ve never heard of them before. If you don’t mind me asking what mods does it cover and how much is the quote.
If I get the JUBU aero parts and CCBs I need to make sure I’m still unstable.

They will cover absolutely everything. I had a track Elise that the only original part was the chassis, they had 4 A4 pages of mods.

I pay £1k on the Emira with 5 Trackdays included. If you do lots of miles they do start to get expensive so it depends on your mileage really. (Track miles don’t count)
Mods on my Emira are:-
Moroso Sump
Third cat delete
Wheels
Brake discs and pads
Seats
Harness
