Misha drives an AUTO V6 with TOUR on the ring

Man that's rough 🥺 maybe I can convince you of the DCT conversion in a different way: the money you'd lose on selling the Emira and jumping into something with a PDK is probably close to what the DCT conversion from Jubu would cost. Maybe it's time to make the Emira the perfect car.
Hahaha, it's totally true. The only car I'm considering as a replacement is twice a new Emira's cost.

I look at Jubu's DCT product page and day dream often. Having the DCT + LSD upgrades... 🤤
Plus I have Shinoo with Inokinentic nearby... 🤔

I've found when you push the Emira hard the steering does start to go light, and you don't get the loading up feel in corners like you do in say a Cayman. The textured feel at lower speeds is lost and it all goes a bit numb.
I think the steering feel is very communicative up until about 8/10.
It's natural that the steering goes light when the tires lose grip. That's how it's communicating the loss of grip.

Goodyears suck balls because they have no grip, especially in the cold.
Had them on my challenger and they’re not even close to Cup 2s.
Grip level and communication are mutually exclusive attributes. Who is talking about grip level?

I am surprised by the comments about the steering... is that just down to tyres, or again having lofty expectations?
Also surprised. He's driven the V6 manual with sport suspension and praised the steering.
I thought the v6 auto has a the same hydraulic steering steup, and the tour suspension shouldn't affect steering that much. Weird.

As everyone is talking steering, I want a Quick Rack for the I4 :)

The Goodyear's have significantly more grip than the Cup2's in the cold.
They're literally designed to operate in a lower temperature window.
Try the Cup2's at 0C if you want to know what no grip feels like..

I dont even care about this personally because it just creates more material for bench racers.
Trust me, due to increase in sales over past few years compared to past decades, Lotus doesn't care either, and that's a shame.

Believe it or not, but there are cars between stripped out track cars and a GT car. You drive one.
That’s not the point I was making. He’s testing it hard on track. What track car has air con, electric seats, satnav etc. The Exige and to a lesser extent the Elise are more suited to what he’s doing. It’s the same as testing an Emira by driving to the shops and complaining that you can’t get your weekly shop and the kids in it.

He tests all kind of different cars on track, only few are dedicated track weapons. Absolutely nothing wrong in testing a proper sportscar on the track. You said the Emira is a GT car, which its clearly not. Thats all I was pointing out.

I’d argue it’s far closer to a GT car than it is a stripped out race car, which was what would be required to excel at exactly what he was doing. Hammering around the race track. Many people on here, myself included have done Grand Tours in the Emira and it excels in that regard.

If BOOMGEAR was smart, they would let him drive their car, if they go back to the Ring again!
Ryan will never let Misha drives his car. Ask any of the pros who drives ring taxi there lmao

Emira is not a GT car. Just as little as a Cayman is a GT car. A GT car is a Maserati Grantourismo or an AMG GT. Emira is analouge, loud, reasonably light proper sportscar.
Politely disagreement here.

We’ve found both the Cayman and the Emira to be proper GT tourers. Great carrying capacity, wideband suspension, engaging dynamics and plenty of creature comforts…

I never said the Emira cant do Grand Tours. Its just not a GT car by definition.

But maybe everyone has their own definition of a GT car. Lets just leave it that way.

Misha just spoiled by upper end track cars. He focused on the slush box and touring package which made him harsh. Still looked like a fun lap…

Misha’s requirements for a car are entirely different to my own, he is thrashing a car around the Ring at speeds most of us wouldn’t dream of doing or be capable of matching so for me the Touring suspension is 😘 for the roads I am driving mine on. If I regularly tracked the car then without a doubt I would have got one with Sport suspension and accepted the compromises it brings in daily use for the superior connection and control on the track

Horses for courses.

At the start he also mentions that the last car he drove had a sequential box and slicks! The auto in the Emira is a great box but it's not a track/race box. I loved it in my Evora and it can change gears faster than me and blip the throttle on downchanges...lovely!
