A belated one from Shelsley Walsh last week, showing the new short front numberplate…

Car has been away for a few weeks getting some attention from Perauto with a full detail and correction, PPF to the front plus full roof, lower doors, replacement of rear 3/4 factory section with a larger piece, and a custom cut to bottom corners of the rear bumper. Lower black part of front bumper already peppered after 1000 miles, so black gloss PPF used there.

Of course everywhere ceramic coated and interior protected and coated. Has made the leather even plusher and the new car smell is back!

Now we just need some nice weather and a road trip!

I was really surprised that Lotus made the black aero parts glossy. Being down so low, they're going to get as you said "peppered". I thought they'd look better and hold up better if they were a matte black, maybe even a textured ABS matte black.

Your car looks fantastic btw.

Thanks for the update. Very worthwhile precautions. Did you decide to get an oil and filter change BTW? I just had mine done at 1300 miles.

I believe they are matte on the base model. The FE cars get "lower black pack" as standard, which switches all those bits to gloss.

What interior is on yours and what product have they put on it? I presume full leather seats rather than just the leather which is on the bolsters?

As an update - had the recall for the wiper pack, software update and a-pillar trim last month, as well as a precautionary 1000 mile service. Zero issues with the car until then.

After leaving the unnamed dealer, A-pillar trim fell off and got a Wiper error message on the dash! (Hasn't reappeared). Not too happy about that.

Then been back at the detailers to rectify a bit of PPFery on the bumper and front wings.

Whilst the car has been away depressed by some of the posts on here about endless issues and prices...

But all issues forgotten today as I took a trip to nowhere in particular around the Shropshire Hills in the rain. Brilliant but pock-marked roads in the wet, damp and dry - just not a journey I could have enjoyed in the 996 GT3 I had before the Emira - but the car was outstanding in these conditions.

Keeps getting better with more miles!

Pic once back home.

Another trip to Elan today and I'm nearly done with running in...

Anyone else contemplating dropping the oil and filter at 1000 mls? I know the manufacturer recommended first service is 10k but I seem to recall Evora and Exige had a running in service at 1000 which makes a lot of sense - I want the motor to last 20yrs+ not just a period after the warranty is up, like Lotus ;-)
Had mine replaced at 1400 miles, oil and filter...why wouldn't you?

I asked my Lotus dealer when mine had its recall in August to check the oil and filter and they did and said it was fine and did not need replacing. I had done 2000 miles at that point.

Off to Bruges for a few days with luggage for two humans, dog crate, stair guard and dog luggage all just about fitted in still with space for humans!

Wipers work, air con works, apple car play works, even the cold start stutter has disappeared and not returned in months, all paint intact and a full tank of fuel.

Great car for long distances and on the European autoroutes shame there are no corners on the way to Belgium!

The cup holders are suited for a Teacup Poodle.
Gets in the way of a 3-4 shift..

First euro trip complete! Emira is a worthy GT. Biggest downside is the seats I think I’ll swap them out at some point for some Tilletts.

Had similar complaints with all the non -bucketed 911s I’ve owned…
