Loud exhaust is ruining sports cars.

I agree. It’s a bit much these days. I chuckle when I hear a really loud howl and look to see the offending car is not very fast.
However, if a Ferrari (or Emira V6) races by I definitely love the sonorous high pitch wail.

Just depends on what we're talking about. One of the worst sounds on the planet is the Chevy V8. If a Corvette or Camaro is stock, it's tolerable, but still sounds bad. Just about any turbocharged 4 cylinder is also horrific, to include Subarus.
However, there's no chance most people don't enjoy hearing my Emira, Giulia QV or 72 Giulia Super on dual Webers at full blast. Goddamn symphonies.

Don't mind the V8 sounds, or even the turbo charged 4s. It's the exhausts that have been tweaked so much that they sound like there is a hole in the muffler. A friend had a hole rust into the muffler in his beater car in college, sounds the same, loud an obnoxious. Then there is the "pops" They have actually gotten to ridiculous levels with the "pops", they aren't even "pops" anymore. Every time I hear one of those cars now I immediately think of the Uncle Buck line "...do you know how whipped an engine needs to be to blow that loud?"

Don't get me started on all the Honda, Nissan, VW, Subaru etc. with all the carbon fiber hoods, quarters and diffuser fins on the roof 🤮

Loud with a muffler is good. Loud with straight pipe is bad.

Burble tunes can go to hell. Especially when they sound like an AK-47

But my emira burbles on its own in track mode with racing downpipe 🥲

A few is fine, and its over fast. thats just feels like natural overrun. Like carbed cars used to do.

But some of them are just constant non-stop rapid fire soon as you lift off.

All depends on the car and where you live...

Here in Canada, you see a Huracan at a car meet and people lose their mine... Can't believe it would be the same for Beverly Hills or Miami.

The main cars at our 2025 Montréal Autoshow was a single Bugatti Chiron and 2? Mclaren Senna... almost 10years old cars.

So when you see a supercar being loud car its pretty cool/rare; but when I see the frequent straight pipe BMW M3 comp. with exhaust tune it get pretty annoying.

Can't imagine living in a city where SVJ are frequent... Must be a nightmare....

There is a big rise of popularity for exhaust company (Gintani/Valvetronic/Arkpovic?/Novitec/etc)... No an expensive mods and with OEM Valve controller its hard for police to enforce the sound law without making a mistake.

Isn't London where they placed sound radar that gives ticket if you make too much sound; or Monaco where they can impound the car for 7 days no questions ask? They are ways to enforce quietness; or at least not abuse the sound; but nothing easy.

Yes sound detectors and Cameras in London and in a number of other cities & towns in the UK.
London has a real problem with super cars in the summer being shipped in from the hotter countries. There have been a number of instances where cars have been impounded. Not the owners care that much, they just get their other cars out for the next night

None of these are "Cheap" exhausts. The Emira carries a supercar tax in some respects.
