Welcome to the site!New member in Virginia area. Does anyone have experience with Lotus of DC service department?
Anton and Miguel are awesome. I just wish the dealership supported the Lotus brand more.My car had a few minor issues ( telematics, parking sensor, radio, & multiple software updates.) that needed attention. The service writer, Anton, is a nice fellow, good listener and wants to please the client. You do need to schedule 2-3 weeks out and leave your Emira for a few days. I believe they have access to only one lift. The service department transported me to and from the Metro station. Looking back they deserve a thumbs up.
I agree, with both points - been there for service, and warranty work. On my second visit Anton came in on his day off to ensure I had an explanation of all the updates as well as to ensure all the paperwork was straight. The biggest issue I had with the second visit was the scheduling of the appointment. They want you to use the online system to schedule, which worked well the first time, but not the second. Then when I tried to call and schedule either no one answered or the phone number was no longer in service. When I explained the situation, Anton gave me his card, and now texting the service department gets an almost immediate response..Anton and Miguel are awesome. I do and so far NOT a fan. I paid in advance for their full service plan. Keep in mind, VW service does the Lotus servicing. Took 2 weeks to get my car in for its first oil change. While there they were suppose to address the telemetrics check engine light yet didn't. They left one bolt off the lower rear diffuser. Even after mentioning to them and they said they would take care of, they had my car back for a month yet never replaced the bolt. They had to order a new drivers door (bubbling paint) and two antennas for the telemetric error. Even though the head tech of Lotus USA said they just need to reupdate the car BUT download the update via something that isn't the dealership network that blocks part of the update. I would get into more details but I'll save that rant for another time.New member in Virginia area. Does anyone have experience with Lotus of DC service department?
Yes, but only one..Anton claimed they had dedicated Lotus techs. Do they?
Anton was good to me over email last year when my car was in their shop. I don't know how I'd feel about text only communications. But I guess it's better than nothing. Thanks for the report! At 4000 miles and 15 months in, my Emira has been remarkably trouble free. I went to Lotus of DC one time to get the AC resistor pack rain shield installed. No problem there. I also asked them to investigate the clicking sound when the clutch is depressed. Miguel said he tried to record the sound so he could get advice from the Lotus engineer (don’t know where that person is), but recording did not capture the click. So they did nothing about it. Anton said come back if it gets worse.
A week after the service, I was cleaning the interior and noticed two small dents on the console finisher (the part around the gear shift and start button). I took a photo and sent it to Anton stating that the damage must have occurred during the service. He has been very nice about it. A new finisher has been ordered and should be delivered next week. Fingers crossed that they actually replace it.
The only way to contact Anton is by text. He’s pretty good about answering. As someone else mentioned phone calls and emails go unanswered. I tried to drive an I4 the day I was there for service. I called the sales person (a number Anton gave me). No response.
Your mileage may vary …
For me text wasn't the only form of communication, just the most effective for a rapid response. Sorry if that was not clear, although I agree it seems very difficult to get them on the phone..Anton was good to me over email last year when my car was in their shop.
