Since this video I’ve received and installed the Tillett padding! Have been thoroughly enjoying the Emira.

Hadn’t realised that was yours! I watched it a few days ago. Mine is Magma with the upper black pack. I originally wanted the black wheels, but ended up with the silver ones. I’m not sure if I’ll keep them or get them sprayed black.

For me this is a spare set of black wheels and I’m going to be refinishing them to silver. Maybe a hand brushed raw aluminum and clear coat.

I saw his review a couple days ago and knew the owner had to be from the forum. Did he say anything about the manual shift feel with the short shifter? I don't think he mentions it in the review.

The short shifter might add a bit of vagueness to the neutral is what he suggested in the review. It hasn’t ever bothered me before.

Since this video I’ve received and installed the Tillett padding! Have been thoroughly enjoying the Emira.

I enjoyed that review. I think his reviews are some of the most interesting out there. Less generic car journalist comments and factoids. Seems more an authentic car enthusiast himself that buys, sells and drives most of the kinds of car he reviews so has honest feedback about the experience of driving them and some of the comparison points to other competitors.

I was kind of surprised at his conclusion given the very high benchmark the Cayman 4.0 sets. Your mods probably helped tilt in the Emira's favor, especially your seats. Of course, I would come to the same conclusion, but consider that a minority perspective. For most the 4.0 is easily the better choice. For some the Emira hands down.

Congrats on the review. I agree with his observations. Any photos of the seats with the pads installed? How are you liking them with the pads? Any issues getting bags/luggage behind the seats? I assume the rails provide enough fore/aft adjustment to accommodate placing bags back there…

- The pads are nice and add just a tiny bit of anti vibration in, they're very form fitting.
- I would say 33-34" waist is the maximum for the B10 with the padding in. If you're a 34" with padding I'd just go for the b10xl.
- While the space behind the seat increases, because they're fixed back, the space to get something back there is drastically decreased.
- I took a photo with the driver seat fully forward and the driver seat bully back with the passenger seat fully forward so you can get an idea of the gap.
- I recommend not getting these if you're trying to go on a road trip and want to put hard luggage back there, soft bags only.
- Sound in the cabin is drastically increased both from the engine AND the sound system, the stock seats soaked up a ton of noise.

We have a couple of compact Tumi Roller bags that are only 15.5" tall (17.5 inches wide, 25L capacity) so they fit on the shelf and butt up under the plastic rear window trim piece but they are 8.0" deep (a little less than most carry on bags at 9") and would need to squeeze between the seatbacks. I could imagine squeezing the first one in behind the passenger seat, then moving the driver's seat forward to allow us to slide the first bag from behind the passenger to behind the driver and then moving the driver's seat back again to allow the second bag to be placed behind the passenger seat. We have a soft bag and compact briefcase that we place on top of the roller bags with a camera bag that slots between them all in the middle (Canon R5 with the trinity 2.8L lenses ). With those tucked away we still have room for an international size carry on in the center of the trunk plus a full size duffel that slots in next to it with a couple of small soft bags on the opposite side. Will hope to come across someone here in SoCal that has these installed so we can try to squeeze one of the rollers in. Your seats look awesome.

I've had roller bags behind my B10 XL seats. I put one seat forward one back and pass them through the middle. I'm not pretending it's as convenient but it's OK and the thinner back does create more space behind.

Yeah I took those photos to show it could be done that’s for sure. These seats have transformed the car for me — the stock seats were terrible.

Jubbal will be releasing a review as well — all i know is he wants a pair of seats too after driving my car

It’s vinyl, I had some scrap laying around and wanted to see if I like it or not before I order something.

The seats seem like a great idea to put in, especially for taller drivers. I'm 6'4" and I was about 1" from hitting the roof when I test drove at the dealership. The extra space behind the seats also seems like a good addition.
Have you taken any long trips with them? I'm curious about their comfort level on long journeys. I may check if it's possible to add extra padding to the pads for a bit more comfort. Do you find it more difficult to get in or get out vs the stock seats?

I don’t really use this car for long trips, just weekend fun, my max driving time is usually a couple hours and no problems there. You can talk to greg/tillett and have them add extra padding and go with the b10xl. I think I have seen that offered before. Getting in and out isn’t as easy as the stock seats but it’s not bad like a full bucket with high thigh bolsters. Likely if you’re 6’4” the bolsters would be below the door sill level anyways.

You should not need extra padding The normal set of panels will be fine. The seats get progressively more uncomfortable with more foam, unless you are small and need it for sizing. The shapes are scraped away mm by mm, so that there are zero pressure points. I always recommend the pad set for the road vibration.
I drove to Spa from the UK which is about three and a half hours from where you get off the ferry. No discomfort at all, where my back was aching after an hour and a half with the standard seats. My 50 kg daughter was sat in the XL passenger seat and fell asleep for the whole journey.
We managed a drop of 4 inches lower head height with a B10 XL when you sit them on the lowest bracket holes.
As for getting in and out the key is to hold the wheel and slide down the edge of the rib support. You just can't fall into them like you can with the bouncy castle OEM seats.

Don’t know all the weights for parts sorry. To be clear though for 34” waist I think you’ll be right at the in between point. You might wanna hear from others chiming in to see their opinions before making a decision. If more daily I’d say b10xl especially if you might have bulkier clothing on. If more track focused then maybe just the b10.

One B10 XL Carbon GRP seat with a pad set including along with the TEMIRA1 bracket and runner kit and the original seat belt receptor weigh's 10.5 kg.
One OEM seat weigh's just over 25 kg in total.

So the saving in total for two seats is 29 kg with B10 XL seats, 30 kg with standard width B10 seats.
Approximately 31 KG using the full carbon B7 FIA seat or 32 kg with the full carbon B9 seats.
Take off another 2 kg if you don't have the panel sets with any of these seat types. A panel set cushion and back is around 1 kg.

Hello Steve, I karted with your padded seat over 20 years ago and it was one of the best seats in holding me in and comfort.
Still karting to this day at 54
So I know these will be awesome!
I will be getting it from Greg since he’s been so helpful and knowledgeable about everything. It will be the carbon with padding everywhere since I drive it to the track.
Are there options for red stitching and what color do you recommend for magma red?
This is the only combo will allow me to slide back and forth, correct?
And the angle of the chair can be adjusted as well, correct?
Do you recommend a 5 or 6 point seatbelt and which one?
Who’s roll cage or harness bar do you recommend?
